Tip of the Week

There are plenty of Jr. A camps and showcases out there, many of them claiming they are a 'great opportunity to get seen'. However, most of them are money grabs/fundraisers.

With that being said, not all Jr. A showcases/camps are money grabs; some are actually great opportunities for players to showcase themselves. Any showcase that is invite only is usually a great opportunity. Also, any time a coach invites you to practice with their team or genuinely expresses a lot of interest in you before inviting you to his camp, that's a good sign too.

Any other showcase that is big and open to everyone is usually a money grab/fundraiser. Notice the word 'usually'. That's because we've noticed 2 open showcases that provide excellent exposure and stand above the rest. Here they are:

1.NAHL Combine

• Almost every NAHL & NA3HL team watches you play
• Top performing players at this camp usually get signed by a team
• 5 different locations: St. Louis, Middletown (NJ), Columbus, Attleboro (MA), Anaheim

2.CCHL Prospect Camp

• All 12 CCHL teams watch you play
• Top performing players at this camp usually get signed by a team
• Location: Ottawa, ON
