Q: Is NCAA Hockey still affordable even if I don't get a full scholarship?

A: Yes, it definitely can be. When looking at NCAA D1, you can receive partial athletic, academic, and financial aid scholarships, which can leave you with very low out of pocket costs when combined together. With NCAA D3, you don’t have the athletic scholarships available, but you can get academic & financial aid scholarships. Therefore, to make it affordable, getting good grades, as well as coming from a modest financial background, will be to your advantage when it comes to the overall price you’ll have to pay the institution.
