Question of the Week

Q: What is the biggest pitfall players face in Jr. Hockey?

A: Living like a Sr. Citizen. In Jr. Hockey, players have much more free time than they're used to if they don't go out of their way to fill up their schedules. At first, it seems great, but as time progresses, players start to get bored and fill up their schedule with bad habits and unproductive things like playing video games, going to bed at irregular times, and partying a little too much. Therefore, it's important to be disciplined and have structure in your life, such as registering for classes, studying for the SAT, taking on a part time job, going to the gym regularly, starting a side hustle/business, volunteering, etc. It doesn't matter what you decide to do; as long as you have a structured schedule in place, you'll avoid falling in the biggest trap of Jr. Hockey.
