November is here, the Spooky Season is over, and it is time to think of other things (but not cabbages and kings). In my case that means figuring out the writing schedule for the rest of 2026. All in-between mundane life events like putting the winter tires on the car and trying to work while my bathroom ceiling gets fixed (there's a big hole in it due to plumbing issues).
Here's the plan.
Work on the back list to update the formatting, backmatter, covers and light editing where necessary.
Edit the first book in the Obsidian Blade series
Edit Shadows of the Dead horror novella
Finish another short story submission (and actually submit the thing)
Finish the Heyward and Andersen bonus story for next year's publication of the boxset collection.
Other than the short story submission, this will spill over into the new year, but I hope to get a chunk of it accomplished in the next two months.
Don't forget the concluding story for the Heyward and Andersen series, Adventure at Reichenbach launched on October 28th.

HORROR FANTASY
Bishop's Crossing by D. M. Mewha
“But I walked away from that life. Now I’m just Jason Bishop, bar owner; not Jason Bishop, Occultist, Exorcist, and Demonologist, Miserable S.O.B…”
After thirteen years of chasing everything that goes bump in the night, Jason Bishop thought he wanted a quiet life. At least that’s what he told himself when he left the paranormal scene to focus on the kind of domestic bliss he’d never been very good at. Turns out leaving his found family and thirteen years of fighting shadows behind is even harder than convincing the love of his life he’s no longer a self-centered asshole.
Now the clock is ticking as he’s dragged back into the life he left behind. The solution? Simple: find the missing daughter of the Voodoo King of New Orleans to stop an occult gang war and The Church won't kill his child. All he has to do is ask for help from the people he abandoned and give up his dreams of a normal life.
“I recognize a junkie when I see one, and being ‘in the know’ is your drug of choice.”
Bishop's Crossing is an adult urban fantasy novel that follows Jason Bishop and his colorful group of friends as they deal with vampires, self-righteous warrior priests, demons, and other horrors across New Orleans, racing against the oncoming war between dark forces that threaten the people Jason loves most.
Into Darkness by C J Charles
The Spectral Detective Series: The Prequel
In the last days of war, the Allies stormed a fortress to claim a weapon of legend—and the line between science and the supernatural vanishes.
April 1945. As the Third Reich crumbles, a covert Allied team is sent deep into the Thuringian mountains on a mission that doesn’t officially exist. Their orders: infiltrate a medieval castle seized by the SS and recover a relic hidden within its ancient vaults — an artefact whispered to defy reason. Captain Arthur King, a soldier turned investigator, leads a handful of specialists into the heart of the fortress. With him is Maggie Clarke, a young codebreaker whose wartime brilliance has drawn her into a world far darker than cipher rooms and typewriters. What begins as a desperate race against time becomes something else entirely — a confrontation with forces buried beneath centuries of war, myth, and secrecy. In the final days of the Second World War, they will uncover that not all of history’s monsters are human.
THE REFUSAL by Stéphane C. Roy
The world did not end. It restructured.
In the ruins of Montreal, two systems divide what remains of humanity, and despise each other for it. Inside the Olympic Stadium, Prester John converts scarcity into ritual, bodies into ordeals, survival into a theology of yield. Beyond it, RESO runs the infrastructure, water, corridors, labour, on pure calculation, counting human lives like fuel until the arithmetic balances.
Both systems agree on one thing: everyone must be accounted for.
Una isn't.
Dragged from the limestone cave where she was raised and branded Eighty-Four, she enters the Stadium's gauntlet — Gluttony, Avarice, Lust, Violence — each ordeal designed to prune the unstable and feed the Canon. She survives them the wrong way. She keeps breathing at the wrong rhythm. Prester John offers her Beatification: protection in exchange for her body. She refuses. RESO absorbs her as a variable. She refuses that too.
