Some March Goodness
Mar 01, 2025 6:01 pm
The hint of spring is here, and the frozen wasteland is melting!
(not an actual picture from where I live)
February was an icy one with subzero temperatures (that's Celsius) and lots of scraping ice off the car windshield. Like chunks of it. My shoulder is still sore. I have been hard at work though, getting books edited.
Book Updates:
The editing is nearing its final stages in my paranormal cozy mystery and I posted the first teaser video, so everything is still on track with that goal. I should have it ready for beta reading in April (that's also when I'll be revealing the title and the first cover tease). So if you do happen to read cozy mysteries or know someone who would like to be a cozy mystery beta reader, please let me know.
In other updates, I did some formatting on the hardcovers for the Entangled Nightmares books and worked on the outline for Dark Beacon. I'll have more on that book in future newsletters.

Inside the Poem:
This month, instead of some tidbits about one of my books, I'm offering up a bit of insight into how I wrote my latest poem. As some of you may know, I participate in The Ladies of Horror Picture-Prompt Writing Challenge, and my latest entry was a poem (you can check it out here: She Lit Up a Room). This particular poem was inspired by true crime shows, particularly Cold Case Files: Murder in the Bayou. The title is actually a line from one of the episodes.

I've also been dreaming up some series logos for merch, and I'd love your opinions on them.. Here's the three looks I've put together for Saga of the Outer Islands, Entangled Nightmares, and Heyward and Andersen.

HORROR
Unfettered by R. A. Goli
A bird succubus that comes in a storm; a bed-and-breakfast from Hell; secret histories from before fairy tales and myths; an asylum from beyond your darkest nightmares…
This is a collection not for the squeamish or faint hearted - be prepared to have your spine tingled: this is not a book to be read alone, at night. But here you’ll also meet wonders, including fairies who wield snow and a horse that rides on the air; you’ll participate in a mermaid orgy and see how sensuality can lead to predicting the future.
Includes the award-winning story ‘A Flicker of Time’.
In Shadows by D.C. Fergerson
The deepest secrets are hidden in darkness.
Jack Layton is recovering from a car wreck that took the life of his wife. Between guilt and grief, he isolates himself in their home. But when he finds a letter from his deceased wife, everything he knows comes into question. Something is haunting him in the darkness. As he digs deeper, his car crash may not have been an accident at all.
If he can face it, Jack must confront these nightmares and find out what's lurking in shadows.
FANTASY
Woman of the Stone by S.V. Farnsworth
Oaths of the heart are not easily broken.
Serious and haunted, Em protects orphans in her castle from enemies who steal her virtue and threaten her life. Will she defeat them or hang at the gallows?
No longer running in the dark, she will face her fear in the light of day.
