Hi
Can you see how fucking awesome you are?
Maybe you're starting to.
Look at what you're doing. You're going to therapy even when therapy is hard. You're picking up the journal. You're meditating for five minutes because twenty feels impossible. You're reaching out instead of isolating. You're getting curious about your thoughts instead of automatically believing every fucking thing they tell you. You're having the hard conversations, setting healthy boundaries, and learning to give yourself some grace.
And yeah, you stopped drinking.
Is that why you're fucking awesome? Yup, that's part of it. But I think there's something much bigger happening. Underneath all the stories about what alcohol has taken from you, there's something it never took.
Your light.
Your spirit.
Your soul.
Your will to live.
Whatever you want to call it, it's still there.
And that's fucking awesome.
You're learning how to stay with what's happening inside you when every part of you wants to get the fuck away from it. You're doing the work on yourself and, maybe even more importantly, for yourself.
Little by little, you're watching that part of you grow.
Maybe getting alcohol out of the way didn't create this version of you. Maybe it gave you the space to finally see what was there all along.
