It's true that some births are more challenging than others. Sometimes bringing your baby into the world is especially hard.

But having attended hundreds of births, I can tell you that overall, the majority of my clients reflect on their birth experiences positively.

It doesn't mean that they were all easy. Birthing takes a lot of energy and effort!

But what did they have in common? My clients felt well supported, informed, and were centred in the decision making process. When challenges arose, they had the space to process what they were feeling.

When I was pregnant (11years ago!) I remember people making a beeline to touch my belly and tell me their (mostly) scary birth stories.

If those are the only stories you hear, it's easy to think that's how birth is, all of the time! Not to mention how birth is portrayed on TV.
