July Updates

Jul 15, 2025 4:01 pm

Greetings!

I had this email drawn up for the beginning of the month and forgot to schedule it so I'll hijack this week's book reccomendation email to update you!

From now on, we are back to our regular newsletter schedule starting now—writing updates on the first of every month and those in conjuction with promotions.

Entering July, I'm working on my latest fantasy story. There will be enemies to lovers and political intrigue laced through that novel and series. Hopefully, if life doesn't get in the way, it will be released in April 2026 with the second story in the Eternally Bound trilogy hopefully releasing the following summer.

I've made it through more than a third of the first draft and it's so fun writing this one, too. I'm delving into things that I haven't managed to yet and it's definitely interesting. For you guys, I'll tell you. Dual POV and enemies to lovers are both tropes present in this book, and there are many dimensions to them that require a lot of exploring. It's a learning experience, but I'm enjoying the challenge.

I'm also working on another series of six books. They will be available through Kindle Unlimited and have a paperback (for those of us who like our paperback trophies). It's centered around a friend group of six women in creative fields who find their matches. There are many different tropes through the different stories—one even a mafia story. This series will undoubtedly test my abilities as well. :)

Anyway, because I messed up and forgot to post this newsletter, I will do only one book recommendation:

Echoes of the Sear from the Starbinds Series by Angela K. French

Abby is an ordinary seventeen-year-old living with her family in Northern California, or so she thinks.

The night of her graduation, everything changes. After a strange accident, Abby wakes up to find she has been transported to another planet named Ozam with beautiful lands and more advanced cities than Earth.

This new world would change everything she had ever believed was true, yet it is a place she somehow knew from the depths of her childhood dreams.

However, just as she is settling into this new way of life, everything starts to shift. She soon learns that she has been a part of this world all along and holds the ability of seeing future events and remotely viewing past and present events as they occurred, ranging powerfully long distances. She is becoming aware of the importance of her gifts and is now being hunted by rival leaders in order to use her visions for their own gains and to prevent any rulers of Ozam from having any future insight from her.

Abby is assigned under the protection of Kaden Zoraan until they can stop her hunters, and though their relationship is strictly forbidden, they are inexplicably drawn to each other.

Can Kaden keep her safe despite his growing feelings for her, or will she fall prey to those who find her?

Echoes of a Seer is book 1 in the Starbinds Series. For the best reading experience, it is recommended to read the books in order.

Thank you for all the support for Bound by Secrets so far! I really appreciate it and the reviews you guys have left behind. I will keep you guys updated and get better at this newsletter thing. Alpha readers will soon be needed for the upcoming stories so I'll just leave that link here again.

Until next time,

A.D. Dumas
