Hello peeps!
Apologies for being MIA, been having some issues with my newsletter but hopefully this one goes through.
Hope this email finds you well. Things are getting real over here as we’re officially reeling up for the launch of Divine King this Friday, February 20th. It’s been a long road, but we’re in the home stretch, and I can’t wait for you all to see how this six-book journey wraps up.
This week I’ve got a Netflix rec, some very fun book news from JP, and of course a Snoopy cameo at the end.
📺 Series - His & Hers
We finally watched His & Hers on Netflix, and wow, this one really surprised me.
I went in with zero expectations and ended up completely hooked. The twists kept coming, and just when I thought I had it figured out, the show pulled the rug out from under me again. Props to my wife for figuring it out the whole thing two episodes before the ending!
What I loved most is that it didn’t rely on cheap shock value. The suspense felt earned, the pacing was solid, and the character dynamics were messy in a way that felt very human. No one is innocent, but that does not mean everyone is guilty.
If you like slow-burn mysteries with big payoffs, this is definitely worth your time.
Overall, a very solid watch.
8/10 from me.
🦉 JP’s New Short Story — The Owlet Cafe
JP just released a brand new Henbane Hollow short story in paperback and eBook, and it is such a vibe.
Before the Mandrake Coven was reformed, there was The Owlet Cafe.
Ragana wakes up six feet under with grave dirt in her mouth and zero magic. Her estranged cousin Helena finds her first, but instead of helping, Helena is mostly worried about how a resurrected relative might ruin her HOA campaign.
The deal is simple. Helena gives Ragana a condemned building. Ragana stays out of sight and slowly rebuilds her power.
What follows is cozy-dark chaos. Ragana discovers Greenwych has terrible coffee and nowhere to gather, so naturally she opens a café complete with an enchanted espresso machine and a fiercely owl-themed menu.
It’s snarky, spooky, and ridiculously fun. A perfect quick read if you want something magical, weird, and a little bit dark.
You can grab the eBook here.
⚔️ Divine King is Almost Here
With the launch date fast approaching, things are busy but exciting. Editing, formatting, Beta reader feedback and final touches are in motion, and I’m so proud of where this story landed.
Thank you to everyone who has been along for the ride from book one. Your enthusiasm and support mean everything to me. You can find the pre-order (with the updated blurb) here.
🐶 Snoopy Cuddles: Maximum Comfort Mode
That’s all for today. If you’ve seen His & Hers, I’d love to hear your thoughts. And if you’re as hyped for The Owlet Cafe and Divine King as I am, I’m right there with you.
Stay weird and keep those pages turning,
A.B. Cohen
