Hello Peps!
Happy New Year! I hope you had a refreshing break. My wife and I spent New Year’s with friends (and Snoopy!) on a friend’s rooftop in Berkeley. There’s just something magical about the New Year that helps everyone reset—like turning to the next chapter of a (hopefully) great book. Whether the previous chapter stirred positive or negative emotions, the act of turning the page and moving forward helps keep life feeling somewhat organized.
👥 A Growing Crew!
This year has been our biggest yet in terms of audience growth! I’m thrilled to announce that our email list has grown from 585 to 1,611 subscribers. 🎉
This is an incredible milestone, and it’s heartwarming to know that more people are reading and engaging with us each week. I’m truly honored to connect with such an amazing community. Thank you for being a part of this journey!
📺 Silo
Very few shows have tickled my brain like Silo did. During the break, I binged the first season, and Raquel and I have been keeping tabs on the second one. We can’t wait for Thursday and the new episode!
What I love about the show is how every single character feels like the hero of their own story. It’s a fascinating reminder of how complex humans are and how reality can be perceived in so many different ways. I’m avoiding spoilers, but if you haven’t seen it on Apple TV+, I highly recommend checking it out!
📚 On My Nightstand
I just started reading Fourth Wing. I’m a slow reader and only a few pages in, but I’m already hooked. The first sentence in a book is so crucial for grabbing the reader’s attention, and Rebecca Yarros absolutely nailed it with this one.
The opening isn’t even part of the story but a quote from a kind of rulebook:
A dragon without its rider is a tragedy.
A rider without their dragon is dead.
— Article One, Section One, The Dragon Rider's Codex
This line sets the tone for a ruthless, fantastical world, and I’m here for it. If you’re curious, you can check it out here.
🕎 Snoopy’s First Hanukkah!
Stay weird and keep those pages turning,
