In a groundbreaking move, TikTok and DistroKid have joined forces to revolutionise the music industry, offering independent artists an unprecedented avenue for exposure and income. This monumental agreement entails distributing DistroKid-affiliated music across TikTok Music, CapCut, and TikTok's Commercial Music Library, creating an expansive ecosystem for creators and listeners alike.

DistroKid, a dominant player in music distribution, boasts a staggering reach, distributing an estimated 30-40% of the world's music. With this new collaboration, independent artists gain access to TikTok Music, the platform's premium-only music streaming service currently available in five countries including Australia.

As reported by MBW, this partnership marks a commitment to continue cultivating opportunities for indie creators, ensuring that the ever-evolving world of music remains a thriving space for innovation and artistic expression. Notably, this endeavour follows in the footsteps of Warner Music Group's multifaceted licensing deal with TikTok, signifying the platform's dedication to fostering connections within the music industry.
