Tik Tok Music Officially Launches In Australia
Oct 20, 2023 10:01 pm
Starting Thursday, October 19, TikTok's premium music streaming service, TikTok Music, has been made accessible to the general public in Australia, Singapore, and Mexico. This full-fledged launch comes after an initial beta rollout in these three markets in July, which followed TikTok's official service debut in Brazil and Indonesia. Notably, in Brazil and Indonesia, TikTok Music boasts licenses from all three major record companies—Sony Music, Warner Music Group, and Universal Music Group. However, in the most recent three markets, as reported by Music Business Worldwide, TikTok Music's public debut has occurred with the recorded music catalogues of only two major music companies: Sony Music Group and Warner Music Group.
As a result, the extensive recorded music collection from Universal Music Group, renowned as the largest music rights-holder globally, is conspicuously absent from TikTok's freshly launched premium music streaming service in Australia, Singapore, and Mexico.
