[💡wfunhome] Tuesday Tools Roundup 🛠️ (October 17 Edition)

Oct 17, 2023 12:31 am

Yo Work Fun Nation,

It’s time for another Tuesday Tools Roundup, where I share Tools and Apps that I’ve personally tested, so you don’t have to!

Here’s how this goes. Every Tuesday, I’ll share only a couple of tools para you don't go insane.

Marami talagang basura apps out there that don’t really work and are just cashing in on the gold rush that is AI (sometimes, they're just calling it AI-powered daw kahit hindi naman.)

Ako na mag-reresearch kasi hobby ko talaga mag-discover the apps.

I’ll share only the stable ones that won’t likely go out of business agad and those that have huge potential kahit bago, and are truly useful for Pinoy freelancers like us.

Got it? Good.

Today we're going to talk about:

🔗 Google Bard.

Sya yung panglaban ni Google kay ChatGPT.

Now as a competitor, it has its pros and cons. Bard loses to ChatGPT in some respects, mostly in extensibility and the number of apps it can interface with.

And its answers are not as great qualitatively as GPT so far.

Pero if you have a Google account, (statistically you probably do) there is something you should be excited about:

You can now collaborate with Bard on your content in Gmail, Docs & Drive

In layman's terms, this means you can now enable Bard to interact with information from your Gmail, Docs, and Drive so you can find, summarize, and answer questions across your personal content.

Wuut?!

This update came in mid-September and I've had the chance to put it through some tests before I share it here.

Let me show you an ACTUAL example.

Since my Gmail account is linked to the domain email of The Work Fun Home Nation, I can now easily ask Bard to create awesome insights for me based on your replies to me.

Yes you, .

Here's how you get started. Simply go to bard.google.com/chat (or follow the link above) and if you have a Google account, you don't even need to sign up.

image

After you find out na hindi man lang sya nag-ask ng consent (automatic na agad, kainis haha) and you sulk in shock for a while, you can ask it to do this:

image

What it will do is summarize ALL YOUR replies from that subject line.

You don't really need to read them (blurred names out din for privacy), I just wanted to demonstrate how Google Bard is able to natively interact with a LOT of our Google data, which none of the other AIs can do.

image

And not just that, you can let it interact with your Google Docs and Sheets.

And since ang dami nyong nag-reply (partial lang yung output that you see above), it allowed me to further confeeeerm a digital product idea that would benefit you guys agad.

So I asked it to contain the biggest challenges inside of a word cloud.

image

This allowed me to condense the information even further.

image

Dati na akong may idea that these are the biggest challenges of people coming into the Work Fun Home Nation, but this further solidifies my hunch.

Due to my own quest to improve myself, and patterns in my own life as well, it came down to self-sabotage.

Bakit?

Well, you LITERALLY write to me that you

image

So even deeper than procrastination, lack of motivation, structure, and focus..

Even kahit skilled ka na and you're actually great at what you do technically..

Kahit na alam mo na yung next steps either through a course or membership..

Every single time malapit ka nang maging successful, or malapit na yung breakthrough mo, your subconscious finds a way to stop you...

and make it all crash down again.

And, if you've been on my list for a while, you may have seen the Self-Sabotage Sigbin email. That was something I used to test my hunch, and it generated a lot of interest.

Now with the power of Google Bard, I was able to validate this further.

But hindi ako na-kuntento with one AI. It's dangerous to trust the output of only one of them, after all.

So I cross-checked this with its Competitor Claude AI, and was even more confident that I was on the right track.

Nag-deliberate pa kami hehe

Finally, I asked a third AI, ChatGPT, to create an outline for a 50-page Ebook called:

How to Stop Self-Sabotage for Pinoy Freelancers

Bakit 50 pages?

Kasi, because of my undiagnosed ADHD I can't finish anything longer than that, so why would I put you through the same punishment?

Now, I'm already in the middle of writing the core story that will anchor the book, and some partial drafts of the other chapters have been worked on over the past few weeks.

Pero di pa sya tapos.

I plan to launch this on October 31st, exactly two weeks from now, for only 997 pesos.

Pero since you guys have been with me since day 1 and will be my first readers, I am making the book available for pre-order starting on Friday the 20th, for only 399 pesos.

Once November 1 arrives, regular price na sya.

Bakit 10-20?

Kasi, it's now 10:20 PM as I write this email. Plus may old deep kwento din dyan that I might reveal in the future. hehe

Pero, my question ako for you .

Bibili ka ba when it's out? reply ka lang here.

No worries, Google Bard will fetch this info and even interpret the non-numerical replies. ^_^

Haha o diba. Yan ang live demo ng new technology at work. (Mic drop!)

But wait CoaSH! You've just shown me how this is useful FOR you, but not for us as Freelancers! Binentahan mo pa kami! Gawd, not another eBook.

Sabagay you never asked for this naman, technically.

As Freelancers, you can literally go through your emails and ask Bard to give you an earnings report, eto ang prompt:

Create a spreadsheet of all payments sent to my Gmail account, regardless of the amount, over the past year. The spreadsheet should include the sender's name, email address, payment method, and amount sent.

What this does is allow you to reach out to your past clients and reconnect with them using this re-engagement template:

Dear Client, was just going through my records and I remembered how awesome it was to work with you on [this project].

If you're ready to do something more awesome or you know friends who need my help with [your offer], I'd love to get in touch!

Thanks again for being an awesome client.

O diba, you have a spreadsheet agad to send emails to?

What if wala ka pang client?

Well, you can use Bard to create cold emails for you just by giving it a few things. Hindi yan kaya ni ChatGPT.

Eto sagot nya:

Granted, that opening line sucks. hahaha. I gave it a stupid prompt. (Go online and do your best, ouch) Pero, you can prompt it better. For demo purposes lang yan.

Anyway, that's it na muna, hopefully marami pa tayong matulungan na freelancers struggling with self-doubt.

Looking forward to your reply to my question, .

Salamat, as in.
