[coach shoden] If it involves a Coach, it's Shady?! 🤓🤓

Aug 12, 2023 3:46 pm

Hey Guysh!

I know it's the weekend na, pero somehow parang na sepanx ako sa pag-email once a day kahit wala naman sense minsan sinasabi ko hehe.

Dahil sayo though, and sa encouraging messages nyo, I'm buoyed to continue. (Naks, deep)

Pero seriously, thank you . (Most of you nilagay nyo full name when you signed up, ayon weird tuloy, hehe kaya di ko din ginagamit yung merge tag na yan.)

But yeah, thanks talaga.

But apparently, it's not only me who benefits from these emails pala.

Pat wrote in to reply to my previous email about the two wolves, and guess what...

image

He sent me a video message saying he closed that client! (Sensya na Pat, sikat ka sa email natin for chuday's vedyo hahaha)

Pero, a few days before that, he wrote in to ask advice kasi he was feeling lethargic:

and his email prompted me to share the story of the Two Wolves. And... if you go back to Pat's photo, he actually has the wolves posted sa wall nya now.

Thanks Pat for taking action!

It's amazing na may results agad yung simple week natin of writing emails. Kaya I don't want to stop this trend. It's helping me a lot to process my thoughts din, and I'm also encouraged to create and document.

So ganito na lang, if you think too much na emails ko, pa-unsub na lang, ayt. Thanks!

That being said, I'll share this story which I already shared sa fb wall ko before.

I saved it kasi it reads better as an email, and also there's a lesson in it that I hope you're open to receiving.

= = =

Some time ago, one of my fellow freelancer friends shared a post she saw inside an anti-MLM meme-posting group.

The person posting said that he or she [didn’t really know the difference between MLM and Freelancing, but the way they operate, like the way they call their mentors “coaches”, and the way they keep on posting “inspirational” posts, is identical.]

Someone even chimed in the comments that [Freelancers are generally self-employed people. They don’t need “coaches” or “mentors”.

S/he goes on to add, “𝗜𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝘆.”

image

Now, depending on where you are in your journey, the sentence above can either be true or false.

Or infuriatingly annoying.

Yung masarap kutusan and pagsabihan na s/he’s talking out of he/r ass.

Leche, Freelancer pa naman ako.

Tapos may mga coaches pa naman din ako.

Not proud of it in retrospect, but I have to admit.. na-trigger ako.

You see for most of my academic life, bulakbol ako.

Cutting classes (literally sneaked over the wall of my high school to skip class and go to a video game shop, I did that.)

Feeling ko pa cool na cool ako kasi I went against the flow.

I didn't even officially get my diploma after getting all my units and thesis sa degree ko..

tapos eto ako now paying hundreds of thousands na for courses and my coaches.

that was where I was coming from, so I might have come off as mean and aggressive sa post ko na yun.

Kaka-imbyerna kasi to si Ate or Kuya eeee.

The sensible thing to do of course was to just let it be, and I didn’t do or say anything more on it na.

And di ko na din i-share sa wall ko, or sa email list ko (pst atin atin lang to ha!) months later. hahaha

This person was probably just way younger and was just in a phase where they think they have everything figured out, but turns out full of shit lang pala.

Sorna hehe

But I would know, because I was like that.

I used to think that I could do it all myself. I also thought I possessed the willpower of a kung fu master who ate iron bars for breakfast.

Of course, I was totally and pig-headedly wrong.

The truth was, I definitely needed help.

It brought me to the times when I really focused on something in a matter of 4 weeks or 30 days and I got results with it.

And almost all of those times had guides I could follow to help me focus my efforts, or better yet -- coaches or mentors who provided invaluable feedback -- basically people who kept me honest and accountable.

Naalala ko yung time when I joined a duathlon that involved a trip to Caramoan, a 1 km open-water swim, and a 15 km run.

The only issue was, hindi ako marunong lumangoy.

Way to effin' go Shoden. Frickin' genius.

Buti na lang the race was 6 weeks away and I had a swimming coach. We did laps at the local pool every week.

And he trained me until he deemed that I could satisfactorily flap my arms a kilometer towards the shore without dying.

Now full disclosure, I didn't win any medals ha.

I actually didn't even get to start sa race, sadly.

The race turned out to be a scam.

Kasi the organizers flaked out of the event.

Nonetheless, I learned an immensely valuable life skill.

(look Ma, I can finally swim in the ocean!)

Something I totally would have not achieved if I was left to my own devices. I became so confident, that I ventured to swim in even deeper waters! (joke na to ha, baka maniwala naman kayo bwhaha)

(Selfie muna before the Happy Meal)

If we didn’t have a deadline, a proven path to follow, and some accountability, I probably would still not know how to swim today.

This is the reason why I think anyone’s life can really change within just a few short weeks of having the right motivation and knowledge.

Kaya, I'm choosing to be excited about what can happen to any of my friends who are new to freelancing and are still trying to figure out what skill they want to pursue with a burning focus in the next 30 days.

Yun na muna for now haha.

Obviously, you're probably seeing this from a mile away, but I am nothing if not transparent.

You will see an affiliate pitch from me soon. You will read the emails I send, and you're actually going to thank me for sharing the info with you. (or mag-unsubscribe ka, whichever comes first hehe)

I'm that confident.

Kahit ipusta ko pa yung pangatlong betlog ko.

I'm telling you now para makapag-ipon ka na hahaha.

In fact, I'll even help you raise funds for this coaching program I'm going to recommend (to your face, at that).

Pero dapat pag-hirapan mo pa din.

30 days is enough to change your life forever.

Happy Saturday!

Ps. Tae pa din yung taong nagsabi na kapag may coach, shady. It's been several months na at di ko pa din ma-get over. haha

Ps 2. If you have friends who are interested in reading email rants like these please forward this to them and let them sign up sa ating munting list.

Ps 3. eto din yan, but mas swabe. Share mo sa wall mo, I need subs parang awa mo na. ^_^ https://sendfox.com/WorkFunHomePinoy
