{don't mind the first version of this email sa inbox mo - Thanks Jhen for noticing!}

Omg this is is it pancit!

It’s the day when the internet goes crazy on deals and where entrepreneurs slash their prices like there’s no tomorrow.

But wait, let me ask you. Do you even know why it’s called Black Friday pala?

Okay, so time for some backstory muna.

Black Friday is the name given to the busiest shopping day of the year in the US. It is the day after Thanksgiving (always falls on the 4th thursday of November), and marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season.

Before the internet kasi, you could get a black eye sa pakikipag-suntukan over a big discounted item.

Kaya Black Friday, naks. (betcha didn’t know that, lol)

Joke lang hahaha.

Pero not really, kasi may store na nagpa-uso sa kanya in the 1950s pa in Philadelphia, and traffic and congestion has only gotten worse. People began to describe it as a black day.

A Black, uhmm.. Friday. ^_^

Seryoso nga.

In 2008, there was a stampede at a Wal-Mart in Long Island, New York, which left one employee dead and several shoppers injured. In 2013, a fight broke out at a mall in Los Angeles, California, over a pair of shoes. And in 2014, a woman in New Jersey was arrested for pepper-spraying other shoppers in order to get a better deal on a TV set. (yikes)

Despite reports of violence and chaos, Black Friday remains a highly anticipated event for both shoppers and retailers alike. It's only grown bigger, if anything. Thank goodness for online shopping, whew.

There’s simply something about huge discounts that make our lizard brains go nuts.

Buti na lang, (if you’re local and in the PH) we’re only experiencing it through our screens.

For my American friends though, thanksgiving isn’t all about flash sales or mobs rushing into a store.

It goes much deeper.

It’s a day filled with family and… food! (think classic movie turkeys)

Oh, and I forgot… being grateful.

Kaya tuloy napa-isip ako about what I’m also grateful for.

Something I am very thankful for right now is that I can happily announce after 2 instances of Covid, I get to have a redo of the plans I had that stalled over the last couple of years.

It’s a chance to reset.

I mean, if the past few years have taught us anything… it’s that you need to grab opportunities to change your life when you see them. I’ve had friends and family members pass away or have traumatic life experiences… and they won’t get a chance to do things ever again.

Nakaka-sad lang.

On the other hand, nakaka-excite din. Kasi I’m now in the position to help a lot more people have that same redo of their plans, and get them to implement.

This is why I’m starting this crazy Work Fun Home movement, para more people have that ability to work while having fun spending quality time with their loved ones and family, and not get stuck with work.

Having tools and apps that can save you a lot of time [LINK] is part of this, kaya andito itong giveaway, and andito ka sa list.

I hope you’re not here simply because of the giveaway, although that’s fine din hehe. Hopefully you'll grow into the finer point of working fun home.

Hemingways, I have a quick question for you … what are you thankful for?

Until the next email and pangungulit,

Shoden

P.S. Oh, another thing I’m grateful for is… you! You could choose to delete my email or even…unsubscribe! Lalo na kung andito ka lang for the giveaway, hahaha. But here you are reading all the way through to the bottom, iba ka talaga .

Sige na nga, you can stay kahit di mo naman binabasa talaga.

I don’t take this for granted.

I appreciate each and every person who reads my emails. People are so busy and overwhelmed these days… so I try not to add to the chaos of your inbox. That’s my whole thing, being able to work FUN home, and being bogged down with emails is not one of them.

P.S.2 The BF list has been updated. Woot!
