Dear —
I had a forehead-slapping moment today, realizing that Amazon does not offer the 'Look-Inside' feature on a newly released book until a couple of weeks after its launch date.
So if you'd like a taste of what's inside The Verses Versus Empire Collection, which has just come out, you can hear my narration of A Conversation Between Bush and God here.
And please excuse this Brit's attempt at a Bush accent!
In case you missed my previous message about this collection, it all started in 2001, when the U.S. Supreme Court installed George W. Bush in the White House. This fraudulent act opened my eyes to empire's predations.
Since then, I have observed the world's structures of enslavement and exploitation through a prophetic lens, creating a thousand pages of verse, short stories, and prose over 20 years.
Of course, in the final year, Covid comes onto the scene, challenging the status quo. I cast the virus not as the villain of this piece, but as an abolitionist reformer in the manner of Moses. Just as the prophet wielded plague against Egypt to abolish slavery, so Covid is here to overthrow the pharaohs of this age!
The three individual Verses Versus Empire books, covering in turn the Bush, Obama, and Trump eras, are priced individually at $7.99 on Amazon, but the entire three-volume collection is $2.99 for a few more days during launch.
Back in touch next month. In the meantime,...
"Your loves, as mine to you." (To quote Shakespeare, as I often do.)
