Dear —
Greetings from northwest England, and a warm welcome to you as a new member of my Poetry Readers List.
How are you getting on with Obama's Dream, the free book I gave you? If you have found blessing in it, I would love to have your review at Amazon US or wherever you buy books. This is enormously helpful for an independent author.
And if you do post a review, let me know in reply to this email, so that I can also enroll you in a separate Reviewers List. This grants privileged access to free review copies of other books and audiobooks.
Obama's Dream was the very first book I published back in 2016. More recently, I also recorded the audiobook version. I made up this epic (or narrative) poem more or less as I went (whereas Elijah was mapped out in advance.)
It imagines an end to imperialism and colonialism, a theme which has run through my poetry for more than 20 years, first with the Verses Versus Empire series and then more recently with The Covid Prophecies.
For it is prophets who will ultimately save us from the leaders of today!
If you haven't come across my work before, by way of introduction I am a British-American author, inspired by the Old Testament, Shakespeare, and the great masterpiece of the English language, Paradise Lost by John Milton. (And I say that as a man who lives, loves, and breathes Shakespeare!)
I have worked in marketing, financial analysis, journalism, broadcasting, education, and the performing arts. Along the way, I have been chewed up and spat out by the corporate systems of the UK, US, and China, and now live in a recently purchased campervan, in which I plan to tour Europe.
But I have always written — Fiction, NonFiction, Memoir, Poetry, and Epic Poetry. And, with a background in voice acting, I have narrated most of these into Audiobook form too.
So again, welcome to my Poetry Readers List. You are right welcome and honored, and I'll be in touch again soon.
Blessings,
Abdiel LeRoy
P.S. — If you would like another free book, My Portable Paradise is included in this book promotion. This would also sign you up for my Travel & Memoir Readers List.
