{{contact.first_name}} — Join My Review Team?

Dear —

As you may have noticed, I sometimes ask you to leave a review on a book you've bought or received from me.

The reason is, I'm an independent author and don't have the resources of a traditional publisher to stoke this particular fire. Though I am inclined to echo Shakespeare's "For what care I who calls me well or ill..." (Sonnet 112), we don't always get a meritocracy handed to us. Nor will 'trolls' stop using Amazon book pages to vent their frustrations about life in general.

"If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,

And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools..."

Rudyard Kipling, If

So, William, so, Rudyard, I have to care at least a little about reviews! And I am very grateful to Readers-List members who have been so generous in this regard.

Now I am enquiring if you, , would like to join my review team? It means you'll get a free read (or audiobook listen), and l'll put you in a separate and select list of dedicated and faithful readers.

Bear in mind this is entering a covenant with me, a sacred trust, you'll hear from me more often and be expected to reply. It's not every reader who is willing to do this, but if you are, please let me know in reply to this email. Otherwise, I bid you continue to enjoy my books at your leisure. They're listed at PoetProphet.com.

Finally, as I close, I am hearing the sweet song of a (European) Robin, who nightly sings on a nearby tree just above where my caravan is parked. The other day, I played a robin song from YouTube and he went on the attack, willing to take me on AND the van. I won't do it again, don't want to stress him out when he's got courtship on his mind. But what a brave little fellow! I have always loved this divine messenger songbird who makes an appearance in a few of my books, including Elijah: "Russet of breast, tawny of tail and wings."

Much Love,

Abdiel
