Dear —
I'm so delighted to welcome you to my Non-Fiction Readers List with your copy of my book, Merciful Munching. "You are welcome, masters, welcome all!" (To quote Shakespeare, as I often do.)
My heart has long longed to share the discoveries I made when recovering from an eating disorder, and to demolish the destructive lies we are told by church and state. This book was the result.
When eating-to-discomfort afflicted me in my late 20s, I held fast to the promise that the Truth would set me free, and set about searching high and low through literary sources and the Bible. This led not only to the book you have received, but to the three that follow in The Gourmet Gospel Collection (for which I have also narrated the audiobook).
If you are new to my books, suffice to say I write in various genres — Poetry, Epic Poetry (or fiction-in-verse), Fiction, and Non-Fiction — and all deeply inspired by the Bible. I'll be concentrating on Non-Fiction for you, as that is how you found me, but in time I will let you know of giveaways and offers in other genres too, when you'll have opportunity to join my other lists if you wish.
For now, there's something you can help me with too, which is to leave a review of Merciful Munching here on Amazon or wherever you buy books. You don't need to make an official purchase of the book to leave a review, but add a note at the end along the lines of "I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author." Of course, if you decide you'd like to splash out the $2.99 for an official purchase, that would be lovely!
As an independent author, I can't call on the resources of a traditional publisher to stuff my review profile, so must depend on the goodwill of my readers. It would be a huge help.
I'll be in touch again soon. In the meantime, I have written and recorded an essay inspired by the Old-Testament prophets, which you can hear at this link.
Until the next time I "unclasp a secret book..." (Shakespeare again.)
Abdiel
