Hello
Have you ever received one of those text messages with a link to press...
And thought...
"Hmm. That looks suspicious."
Well, that's what happened recently to our friend, Michele.
She received this.
Looks legit, doesn't it? After all, it's the real Royal Rail URL, isn't it?
Problem is... it's fake.
An elaborate scam.
So I decided to run a webinar to walk through some easy steps to check if a link is fake.
If you want to watch it, I'm doing it live on Monday night at 7:30pm (this Monday, the 8th March).
It'll last about 20 minutes. 30 at the most.
It's totally free and there's nothing to sell. I'm running it just to be helpful...
And 'cos I'm as fed up with scams as you are.
OK. I'll answer that question that's in the back of your mind... "Will I have to appear on camera?"
Nope. It's live on Facebook and YouTube. So it'll just be my mugshot.
Oh, and lots of pictures!
Here's where you can watch it (check it out now if you like - there's lots of good stuff on the Tech it Easy Facebook page. Give my page a "like" too. That'll really make my day!).
Can I ask a favour, too, please?
Could you forward this email to someone else that you think would want to watch the webinar too.
Thank you!
Bagels & Bagettes in the Zoo
Before the lockdowns began, we went to the zoo.
They had a bagel in one cage and a baguette in the next.
I think it was bread in captivity.
Coffee on a Bench?
Talking about lockdown, isn't it good that Monday will also be the first step in getting back to normal (whatever normal will be eventually).
As well as schools being back, two people from different households will be able to meet outside for recreation, which can include "a coffee on a bench".
There's more on this BBC guide: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/explainers-52530518
Anyway, that's it for now.
Hope you can join me on Monday evening.
All the best
David
P.S. Did you receive this email from a friend?
You can get a similar email each week if you like, from my website, here...
