At SQ's House

I had two Thanksgiving dinners this weekend, one with the in-laws and one with my family! How does a person get luckier than that?

(Forgetting about the reading on the bathroom scale, of course.)

My California sister and I have an annual tradition of going shopping on Black Friday--at Ocean State Job Lot.

It's a discount store specializing in all kinds of extraneous, inexpensive things.

The most fun part of the tradition is that we always get my other sister a really super crazy gift ➜➜➜➜

usually something she'd be too horrified to actually wear, but that would make us all laugh when she opens it.

Done waiting for a coherent response from me, Bryan wraps his arms around me, pulling me hard into his body in a tight hold that leaves no room for guessing the strength of his attraction to me.

He brings his point home in a visceral way, pressing his hips against my belly. My thoughtless body responds with abandon, bypassing whatever flimsy protests my conscience puts up.

There’s no push back from me, nothing but melting into him.

Lowering his lips closer by fractions until I feel the heat of his breath, until I taste it, breathe it in, feel the first impact of those sensual full lips as they touch mine, he kisses me. The impact sizzles my nerve-endings. His mouth covers mine in a scorching blanket, claiming me. Finally.

I emit a single breathy sigh, an admission of my longing and my ultimate satisfaction. Hunger takes over as my body takes control, helpless against the velvety tangle of his tongue with mine. 

He seals his mouth against mine, creating a warm dark cave of intimate bliss. His lips press and I press back, nibbling, tasting the earthy maleness of him. His tongue explores my mouth and I let go of whatever restraint or reserve or  sense of common decency I might have possessed before I met him, before he became the tragic hero starring in my dreams since I was a little girl. 

He drops small nips on my lips, kissing the corners of my mouth as he withdraws from me, shocking me with his gentleness as he lifts his head, making me feel the loss of that intimacy all the more, almost making me pull his mouth back to mine.

But I stare into his eyes and try to match his self-control, aware of our surroundings as if I've been in a stupor, even as I still feel his arousal against me. Then he loosens his hold and steps back a fraction, enough for me to lose something I seem to need. I bite my lip to keep the groan of disappointment from escaping.

Since when am I such a wanton woman? I was never like this with Todd.

“Now you have something to think about,” he says in a low rough voice. He takes another step back, abandoning me. I should say something, but he doesn’t wait. He stares at me for one last beat, communicating all kinds of lusty desire in that look, then turns and takes off.  

The cold air hits me, slapping me into reality and all the way out of my Bryan Granger trance. I hug myself as if to preserve even a speck of that fleeting warmth and intimacy that I felt with him, before the feeling can escape into the place where dreams go.

Then I go back inside the ROTC hangar, to the sour smell of the beer fest in full progress.
