Name That Character Contest for the first Hockey Boys book: Patrick - the Jennings Brothers!

Don't you love Sunday mornings? Or maybe your favorite is Saturday.

The good thing about being a writer is that every morning is up for grabs, especially if I start by writing.

So here I am, writing to you. It's my Sunday morning ritual that I really look forward to and try to pour my heart out to give you my best.

My goal is to please you in some way.

Humor? Sometimes I can pull that off, but it's iffy. I can be too subtle sarcastic humorless silly. I don't know. Guess I can't find the right word.

Special deals? I always try to provide you with something and I hope that's a positive.

Special content? Like exclusive excerpts or snippets of works-in-progress. I always hope you enjoy those, though I'm never quite sure how much is enough and I worry that if I make it too long you won't bother reading it. Or if I make it too short, you'll feel cheated.

Glimpses at my life? To me, this would seem like an uninteresting borefest, but all the wise old newsletter gurus insist that you want to hear about what I'm up to.

Please put me out of my curiosity-misery and tell me if this is true!

Anyway, I guess my point is that I try and if you ever have any suggestions, please do let me know!💜

At SQ's House

My son Tom is here for a visit with his gf for a few days.

Yesterday we christened the new patio with a family cook out. Even my son Rob got to be there though he had to work later.

I should have taken a pic with people in it, one of us all enjoying our cook out, but I was having too much fun. ➜➜➜➜

So I get the empty patio and you'll have to imagine H cooking at the grill (no apron), me hovering around the table making sure everyone has what they need and the *kids* all enjoying the food.

Eventually we all relaxed, had some laughs and enjoyed each other's company most of all. 💜
