💜💜💜💜💜💜

Hello !

I'm really enjoying this fall! I hope you are too. One of the things that's been fun is the progress I'm making on writing The Cheerleader.🏈

Moving fast now, I've come to a place where I need a new character name. This young lady is a student at UConn and though she doesn't play a major role in this story, she may be a main character in the next one!

So enter the contest and please help me Name That Character! 💜

imageWe went to a wedding this weekend. One of my long time friends tied the knot at a small gathering of 30 people. ➜➜➜➜➜

It was informal, set out doors in the mountains of New Hampshire, and yet traditional, with rows of guests sitting on white chairs witnessing the heartfelt vows.

Of course I cried--but so did everyone including the bride and groom. It was one of those very romantic affairs with poignant stories shared by many different people and love just floating in the air on the cool sunny day overlooking the gorgeous scenery.

Plus there was world class music and dancing!

(for which I am paying the price the day after with sore muscles. Totally worth it!) 💜

Do you love BIG FAT weddings or intimate informal ones? 💜

image Is it strange that I can forget about the lopsided loss to Navy, but I can’t get the picture of Suzie being carried across the field by a couple of their mascots, with that panicked look on her face out of my head?

She nudges me as she sits down next to me wearing her usual unperturbed smile as if nothing ever happened. Professor Yardley walked into the room about ten seconds ago with a pile of papers.

Tension uncoils with a snap inside me, like she has the key to the spring, like she’s responsible for my need to hold my control so tightly, like she’s the reason and the target for my energy once it’s sprung. I breathe in the fresh air that surrounds her, mixed with her sweetness and before I need to do more than breathe her in, I turn away and separate myself from the light touch of her elbow against my biceps.

With a monumental effort, I coil all the need back up into a tight ball, feeling the physical effort of ignoring her pull, and tuck it all away, leaving the surface comfort intact.

“You’re late again.” I enjoy teasing her too much.

She elbows me again like it’s her version of batting her eyelashes, but I’m ready for it this time and I suppress a smile and everything else that flickers inside me with the contact.

Yardley starts class by handing papers back and I realize my heart is pumping like I care about my grade. I lean in Suzie’s direction and take in a long whiff of her essence.

“What?” she says.

I shake my head, calmer, even though my heart hammers faster. The purpose of all the pulsing blood is different now, not the kind of rush that makes me want to run. It’s the kind of rush that makes me want to pick her up, throw her over my shoulder and then run.

Distinctly different.

Holding in the smile, I wonder how long I’ll be able to hide my attraction, when she’ll figure it out if she hasn’t already. I’ve been bad about teasing her.

Best to keep my mouth shut and ignore her.

Remember when your bedroom wall was covered with posters of pop stars and your favorite bands?

Tally McKenzie’s room was different. Her walls were adorned with pictures of tennis sensation Cash Gallagher. For the past decade, she’s fantasized about meeting him, never expecting their paths to cross.

Not that it would matter if they did meet.

Cash liked his women tall, and blonde, not average-height, dark-haired, curvy ones like her.

Sometimes, though, dreams do come true. When her newspaper editor sends her to cover a fundraising event hosted by the billionaire playboy, Tally gets her wish—and a lot more besides. One dance, one conversation, one groundbreaking scoop, and suddenly, she’s plunged into a world she never expected to enter.

But Cash is a man with secrets, and the deeper Tally digs, the more her concerns grow. How well does she really know the man she’s idolized for years?

And are some secrets better left buried?
