Hope you're enjoying the remains of summer.
Maybe you've experienced the same thing I have this year--for some reason, I didn't get my usual burst of summer reading in. And now summer time is shrinking along with the daylight up here in the northeast U.S.
How do you feel about the summer coming to a close? Did you make a dent in your TBR pile?
I have this one book I've wanted to read, Fourth Wing, and I haven't had a chance. Maybe you've heard of it or read it?
Kidding--I know it's wildly popular and that's a big reason I want to read it.
I make it a point to read all the block-busters, especially in the romance genre. Though I confess I never read Shades of Gray--I saw the movie.
Most of the time I enjoy the block-busters, like The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins or Ice Breaker by Hannah Grace.
Other times, I'm disappointed, like with Colleen Hoover's It Ends With Us.
My point is, we all like what we like and even if a book is wildly popular, we're all going to have our own opinion. And that's more than okay.
One of my favorite old-timey sayings is To Each Their Own. And my all-time favorite old saying is one my Aunt Mary (who is alive and kicking at 95 years) used to say all the time:

At SQ's House
My younger son is still here, but he's returning to D.C. today after his 3-week visit. It's been fun to catch up--and mostly spend time eating with him and his girlfriend.
We went to lunch yesterday with the family and his girlfriend's dad.
I wish I had a picture of that to share since we were on a farm and there were donkeys 
Instead, all I have is a pic of my new haircut, which is the only other exciting thing that happened this week. ➜➜
(Only partly kidding.) (I spent a lot of time writing/editing)
In the meantime, I went to the gym once. Just to touch base and make sure I didn't forget where it is.
On the upside, my fingers are in great shape with all that tapping on the keyboard keeping them limber.
Lastly, but not leastly...
