I need a name for the heroine today!

Dear ,

Happy back to school month! I don't have kids in school, but since I did for over 20 years, I still feel the excitement and it still brings back fun memories--plus I love the fall.

How about you? Are you a teacher or student or mother of school kids? Do you enjoy the excitement of going back to school or does it give you anxiety?

I bet some mothers are relieved for the return of the school day routine.

Fall marks the new season for our book club, a return to our home bases and more time set aside for reading.

For me, I'll get into a steadier writing groove, not as disrupted by family visits and vacations. In fact I'm already a few thousand words into my new work-in-progress, The Holy Trinity, a romantic suspense which will be included in a charity anthology to benefit After Action for Military Veterans.

Now I'm in dire need of a new name for my heroine and I need it like YESTERDAY! 💜

Check out the details for my latest Name That Character Contest Below⬇️⬇️⬇️

What's Next: The Holy Trinity is short and then I'll be jumping into my NEW SERIES! Yay! I've been excited about The Hockey Boys series for a while, doing some work on it in the background.

Patrick: The Jennings Brothers will be my next novel, a small town hockey romance with some Romeo & Juliette vibes because in this small town, there are two families who matter and they are rivals, competing at everything against each other--especially hockey.

This is no friendly rivalry and it started a long time ago, so Patrick must be crazy out of his mind to even think about romancing the treasured daughter from the other family.

You can pre-order Patrick: The Jennings Brothers now at Shop.Stephanie Queen or on Amazon

I've dropped in a HOT 🔥🔥 EXCERPT for your reading pleasure, from Lucky Puck. Check it out below! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Also this week I have two special featured authors and a book deal features to share with you. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

As always, I appreciate your time and attention to my newsletter, your kind, thoughtful replies and your generous support, very much.

At SQ's House

This week was a scramble of activity for book release fanfare, but in between imagethat I visited my mother and all my siblings and my 2 sons and nephew were there to celebrate her 94th birthday. Here's the promised pic! ➜➜➜

I went back for another visit, dropped my son Tom at the airport to return home and then went to Portsmouth, NH to celebrate a dear friend's birthday.

Hectic week, but in a fun way.

⬅️⬅️ imageHere's a pic of the birthday celebration in Portsmouth--yes, this is the location of my fictional Whalers Hockey team--where we rocked out to karaoke.

No, I did not sing! Not solo, anyway. These people were seriously talented and we had a ball joining in the chorus along with the rest of the crowd.💜

Who else loves Karaoke--as a spectator?

Brody

I hold in my groan this time, but my control is on the edge, and letting go of another groan will send me over.

I clench my jaw. “Take it easy, Brooks,” I rasp the words and grip her hips to still her, counting backwards from a hundred as if I’m about to go under, anything to distract my cock and retrieve some control.

“A quick slam isn’t what I have in mind for us. I want to watch you come at least twice before I lose it.”

“Twice?” Her voice squeaks with doubt, but her eyes gleam. Then she licks her lips, and I squeeze my eyes shut. It does no good. I can’t unsee the sexy image of her pink tongue running over her plump lips. “Shit.”

“Are you okay?” She sounds concerned for real, and I laugh.

“I’m too okay, but don’t you worry about it.” I nibble her ear, and then with superhuman effort—no exaggeration—I push myself off her.

She reaches for me, trying to hold on. “I thought you said two—”

I smile and tense my muscles to hold back while everything in me is screaming to go full throttle because her eagerness is so fucking hot.

“I need to ask you one last time, honey pants,” I rasp, sounding too much like I want to ravage her. I soften my voice, “Are you sure?”

She nods.

“I need to hear you say it. Without mixed feelings. No room for regrets here, Brooks.”

“I want you so bad, Brody. I would never forgive you if you don’t take me right now.”

Holy shit. Take her? “Then I will, honey pants.” My chest tightens, and I don’t know what that’s all about, but I know what she wants. Unequivocally.

“Let’s get these covers untangled and these clothes off.” I throw off the comforter. With some breathing room, my dick calms down a fraction, and I peel off my t-shirt. I enjoy the starved look on her face as she watches me. Then she pulls at her nightgown, and I put my hand over hers to stop her.

“Let me do it.” My voice is back to raspy, and the tension in my balls escalates all over again as I reach for the buttons of her nightgown. I concentrate hard on her face, her beautiful kind eyes, her trusting innocence, and my hands fumble for a beat.

But I keep going because we both want this, need this. Our marriage may be fake, but our chemistry is frighteningly real...
