At SQ's House

This week was one to celebrate the bookends of life, the happy and sad occasions of the beginning and end of life.

On Friday I attended a funeral to say good-bye to my treasured Aunt Charline. She was the one who made all the special events of my childhood special with her lively sense of occasion and energy. She would sing Christmas songs and host dinners and bake the best toll house cookies and add a sense of excitement to whatever was happening. She lived 94 years and I'll miss her.

On Sunday, I attended a Christening to celebrate my sister's grand daughter Molly ➜➜➜➜

the newest addition to our family. She's adorable and fun and I look forward to catching glimpses of her growing up.

In the meantime, I'm keeping cool and mostly dry--except for when I fell off the paddle board because some rude motorboat caused a tsunami of waves by circling us. Still working on the paddle boarding skills. 😘

How's your summer going?

Sometime early in the morning, the sunrise wakes me. Or maybe it’s the feel of a hard cock pressed against my rear, fitting perfectly and tantalizing me. Or it could be the heavily muscled arm draped over me, with a large calloused hand clutched to my breast. A light shiver of desire runs through me, and a chuckle automatically escapes before I have a chance to examine my predicament or how I feel about it. I was supposed to go home last night.

“Good morning, Buttercup.” The lazy drawl of his crackly morning voice scrapes over my sensitive nerves, lighting me up like gasoline on embers. My pussy clenches like I’m Pavlov’s dog.

I groan. “I can’t. My doctor’s appointment is at eight, and I need to—”

“Get dressed. I’ll make us coffee and breakfast.”

“You cook?” That’s what I have to say in response? Not, you’re out of your mind. I’m outta here?

“I’m no cook, but I can manage eggs and English muffins.” He leans in and nibbles my earlobe. “Before I cook, how about joining me in the shower?”

“You’re worse than the devil, tempting me every chance you get.”

“No, Buttercup. You have it all wrong. You’re the temptation around here. You’re like a drug, and I’m addicted.” He pulls away the covers, scoops his arms under me, and throws me over his shoulder as he rises from the bed.

You’d think I’d put up more of a struggle, but I fight like a five-year-old girl, mostly giggling and too turned on to resist as he carries me into the shower with his hand on my ass, caressing and making my toes curl...

Krissy is crying in a full blown melt down by the time I reach her and lift her from the crib. Her diaper is dry, so I hold her close, ready to take her down stairs, whispering soothing words in her ears. Just as I’m leaving, Lainey appears in the doorway and I stop short before we collide.

“Oh, I didn’t know you were here,” she says in a whisper. “I heard Krissy and came down as soon as I could.” She’s wrapping her robe around her like she’s hiding from me, but I can see the shape of her body clearly the way the rob molds around her.

Now my dick decides to come to life. Jesus

“I heard her too.” I back up, rocking back and forth as Krissy quiets in my arms.

“I’m sorry you had to get up. You have company…,” she trails off awkwardly, pushing her sleep mussed hair from her face, but the curls keep falling back in her eye and I don’t think I’ve seen anyone look sexier in my life. Shit.

“Not an issue.” I heave a breath and put her mind at ease. “Shonda is staying in the guest room.”

“Oh.” Her face changes from anxious to relieved in a blink and I struggle to keep from smiling. “Spence, we need to talk. I need to talk,” she whispers and I hear the distress in her voice. Of course. Because we kissed, crossed a line we shouldn’t have and we need to work together, to keep things professional. We need to be able to co-exist in the same house—I hope she’s not planning to leave. Shit.

I nod. “You’re right, We do need to talk, Lainey. But this isn’t the time.” I glance at the door.

“I know.” She nods. “I get that. Do you want me to take Krissy downstairs for her bottle?”

“No, I got this. Thank you.” I want to say how sorry I am for the kiss, for inviting Shonda here—though I’m not exactly sure why I’m sorry about Shonda’s visit, because there’s nothing between Lainey and me—there can’t be—so I don’t owe her anything, certainly not fidelity. It’s not like I … but it is. I kissed her. Then I kissed Shonda not a minute later and that’s just rude if nothing else.

Lainey backs out of the room, mouthing good-night and I’m left to my own devices as I take Krissy down to the kitchen to feed her. While I contemplate Lainey asleep in her bed.

The Do-Over Girl - a hockey rom-com

imageCan a girl go back to high school to find the hockey star who got away and expect a do-over of her big fat romance gone wrong?

Find out in this hilarious non-time-traveling take on 17 Again meets Welcome Back Kotter set at an exclusive prep school and featuring a former cheerleader turned teacher and ex-hockey player turned coach.

This story is for all of us who have regrets about that high school sweetheart we lost when he disappeared into his new life after graduation. We went our separate ways because we were too young and foolish to know back then what a good thing we had...

This story is the antidote to the cynical maxim that says you can never go back. She proves them all wrong when she goes back and erases all her regrets, turning them into star dust, spun gold, flying unicorns and a big fat happy ever after. Laugh, cry and get a zing of sizzling excitement when you read this story!

The Do-Over Girl is a Boston Brawlers spin-off and part of the Some Girls Like It Cold Series.

(Warning: contains language and sex for a mature audience.)

“With a name like Chase, I should have known you’d catch up with me,” she says.

Sporting a wry smile, she pretends to be all casually cynical. I would have believed her act if it hadn’t been for that one night. There was nothing casual about it, or her.

That night was certifiably special, everything about it, from start to finish.

Only problem is I’m dying to re-live it all. And she’s not.

Chase Whittier, just up from the minors to join the NHL's new Portsmouth Whalers, is riding high and out to celebrate in Boston after their win against the Brawlers.

In a departure from his usual behavior, he takes a woman home for a one night stand.

Except this woman and this night are not what he expects from a one-night-stand. He connects with her on a level he’s never experienced before. This can’t be normal.

But when she disappears before the morning, he's more than disappointed because he didn't get her number--or her last name. And though he doesn’t expect to ever see her again, she stays on his mind.

Until two weeks later when he goes to his grandma’s in Boston for Christmas and finds her there.

She's his grandma's caretaker. And not happy to see him. At all.
