Hello ,
What is it about hockey romance that keeps you reading? Or not? I'd love to hear what you think.
What do I think, you ask? I love writing them as much as ever.
I think hockey romances have an intoxicating combination of rough and tumble action and hunky guys with so much love for the game that it makes them humbly grateful even while they're wildly confident. The whole package does something to get your pulse jumping! 🏒
Then there's something about a cold ice rink that makes you want to hug a hockey player, right? 💜
This week's hockey romance on sale is a second chance rom-com, The Do-Over Girl. The story is a little different since the hockey star is retired and coaching the high school team in the small town in Maine where he grew up. The heroine returns to the small town after 17 years to help her friend save the high school--and because she's been fired by her now ex-fiancee.
Her friend? She the principal of the high school and the hockey coach happens to be the one guy our heroine never wants to see again, but never got over, her first true love.

The Deadline: My son who lives in D.C. will be visiting in April and I've promised him the new bathroom shower will be ready for him to try out then.

“I can play. It’s only a few stitches—”
“The stitches are in your forehead, kid,” the trainer says. “You’ll have to be checked for a concussion.” He smiles at my agent. “He could be out of action for a week—hockey action that is.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” My agent, a super fine woman, asks. “He’s not getting any other kind of action because he’ll be sticking with me for the week.”
“Whatever you say, lady. None of my business.” He gives her the kind of look that suggests he thinks she has hanky-panky on her mind.
Not cool. I dart my eyes back to her for a cue to jump in and say something.
The expression on her face. Holy shit. I’ve seen fire-breathing dragons with less fire—okay, I mean I've seen them in the movies. I can’t take my eyes from her and somehow the steam from her heat makes its way to my pants. Since I’m wearing a cup, that kind of steam isn’t ideal. Technically.
But I don’t mind because the pounding in my head fades to the background while I wait for her to blow—I mean, for her to say something, like I'm watching a shoot out and he's the unfortunate goalie about to get pucked.
“Don’t even imply there is anything untoward going on between me and my client. Not even in jest. I’m a talent attorney and I know my way around reputation law inside and out.”
“Yes, mam.” The trainer backs off, holding up his hands, wisely in my opinion.
He backs up into the old guy in a suit who slid into the room during the show—I mean discussion.
He puts a hand on the trainer’s shoulder and nods at my agent—I wish I could remember her name—and me.
“Slow down, there Lou, the All-star team is invited to at least three parties tonight and there’ll be lots of press. As a sought after guest of honor, Brody is obligated to attend.”
“Fine,” my agent says. “I’ll go with him and make sure he’s okay.”
“And you are?” the suit asks.
“I’m Mr. Holden’s attorney and agent from the Jett Agency, Bianca Brooks.” The guy looks her up and down in a way that sparks my hey, wait a minute instincts, heating up my blood, and not in a pleasant way. I’m about to tell him to keep his eyes on her face, but she keeps her cool.
Lifting her chin and slapping her hands on her hips, she says, “Now that you’ve checked me out, how about if you tell me how the hell you are.”
