SQ's Name That Series Contest
Hello my reading besties,
Hope you're all doing well and weathering the winter wherever you are! I'm hunkered down working on my new series which is a hockey rom-com spin-off of the Boston Brawlers series with three books, The Puck Bunny, The Groupie and The Do-Over Girl. BTW, it's a steamy rom-com series in case you were wondering. Problem is--I don't have a name for this spin-off series.
Help me name the series by entering the contest! See the entry details below: ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

At SQ's House
This week I got the cortisone shot for my shoulder. Even though I'm a big baby about shots, it didn't turn out to be that bad. Feeling better already! 💜
Meanwhile--Since I haven't been up to anything photo-worthy this week, resting the shoulder per doctor's orders, I'm going to share a photo of my son.
He played in his first live performance in a band in December to a packed house! He's the one on the left in the Hawaii shirt on guitar. ➜➜➜➜➜
I sincerely hope you're having a joy-filled month of January! 💜

The Puck Bunny character collage
Quinn James here...
I apologize for all the sweat. I just finished a work-out.
On the ice.
What kind of work out were you thinking?
Are you looking at me like I'm your next meal, like you haven't eaten in a year?
I might be a little hungry too...
Sorry. Flirting is a bad habit I need to break. There's a certain puck bunny who's making that hard for me to do. Make that impossible.
But seriously, I'm sick of the shallow L.A. bachelor lifestyle. That's why I took the deal with the Boston Brawlers, to get back to my New England roots and my family. That, and because of another matter that needs to remain confidential.
Confession: I need to mend fences with my family. I haven't been there for them over the years--not really. Not enough. Sure, I've sent them money, bought them a lot of stuff, but that's not the same thing.
What do I mean? For instance, I didn't make it home to see my dad when he was sick and dying...
Don't go hating me now--I was out of the country working through a... problem (see the confidential matter above) when he took a turn for the worse and I couldn't get back in time. I meant to. I thought I'd have time...
Now my family isn't talking to me much--and by family, I mean my brother mostly.
Mom has an idea to help get me back in his good graces, but she made me promise two things and I would do anything for her.
The second thing is a doozie. It'll take a lot of doing to deliver, but I have no choice. I'll do anything to be with my family for Christmas.
But first things first. I need to keep focused on hockey and have a helluva season with my new team.
And to do that, I need to keep that fascinating red-haired puck bunny out of my head...

The Do-Over Girl - a hockey rom-com
Can a girl go back to high school to find the hockey star who got away and expect a do-over of her big fat romance gone wrong?
Find out in this hilarious non-time-traveling take on 17 Again meets Welcome Back Kotter set at an exclusive prep school and featuring a former cheerleader turned teacher and ex-hockey player turned coach.
This story is for all of us who have regrets about that high school sweetheart we lost when he disappeared into his new life after graduation. You went your separate ways because you were too young and foolish to know back then what a good thing you had...
The Do-Over Girl, a Boston Brawlers Hockey Spin-Off is the antidote to the cynical maxim that says you can never go back.
She proves them all wrong when she goes back and erases all her regrets, turning them into star dust, spun gold, flying unicorns and a big fat happy ever after. Laugh, cry and get a zing of sizzling excitement when you read this story! (Warning: contains language and sex for a mature audience.)

Melting the Ice - Melody Heck Gatto
Talia never imagined that at almost forty years old, she’d be newly single again...
Not to mention picking up a sexy young man at a Pittsburgh bar. What she thought was a one-night stand, turned into night after night of the best sex she’d ever had. Even the news that he was a teammate of her brother couldn’t extinguish the desire she had for Harrison. Somehow, he had made himself a permanent fixture in her bed and was slowly moving in on her heart. He fawned over her like no man ever had before, and she was loving the attention, but she wasn’t ready to give her heart away so easily. Not after what she just went through.
Harrison vowed off relationships. He was a self-proclaimed lifelong bachelor. Talia was simply supposed to be a notch in his bedpost, a hook-up. But he was drawn to this woman with such an animal attraction. Typically, he never bedded the same woman twice, yet he couldn’t get enough of Talia.
Talia wasn’t looking for a new relationship. Even after being estranged from her husband for two years, filing those final papers felt so…well, final. Closing that period of her life was scary, but it was time to put on her big-girl pants and figure out the next chapter.
Trouble was, falling in love again was not part of that plan.
