Celebrating the release of The Do-Over Girl

💜💜💜💜💜💜

Hello !

Sorry I'm a day late.

In a perfect world, I'd be jumping up and down with excitement--or at least sighing with relief and collapsing on the couch to relax--now that The Do-Over Girl is out in the world.

But, I went to a writers conference last week--the big one that's been on my bucket list forever--Novelists, Inc.--and this being the germ-ridden real world, I got sick with the flu immediately after returning.

The upshot? Could be worse, but I lost my voice. Silver lining--my husband likes it--Kidding!

In spite of the conference, the flu and laryngitis, I have started on my next book!

The show must go on, right?

YES!

Only problem is that I need a NAME for my HEROINE--but you can help.

At SQ's House

I still can't talk. And this wouldn't be so bad really, if it wasn't for the fact that a reporter from the Boston Globe contacted me a few days ago to interview me about hockey romance (eeek!!!). My appointment is tomorrow...

image In the meantime, Here's a scene from the NINC writers conference last week. ➜➜➜➜➜➜

I'm the one not wearing the witch costume. (I made up for being costume-less by dancing my heart out to nearly every song! I wasn't alone--you'd be surprised what dancing maniacs us novelists are!)

Yes, the answer is I WOULD do it over, even though after going to the conference and spending every bit of energy I had, I ended up sick and speechless!

My diet? you ask. Silver lining! I lost 6 pounds and counting due to having no appetite and because I can hardly breathe through my nose. Yay! (seriously! this could even be a solid GOLD lining!) 😘💜

"I could not put this book down. I read it in a day! I loved it! I loved the history Nash and Kali have... The steam that builds and finally boils over is next level. And the HEA is next level!"

“With a name like Chase, I should have known you’d catch up with me,” she says.

Sporting a wry smile, she pretends to be all casually cynical. I would have believed her act if it hadn’t been for that one night. There was nothing casual about it, or her.

That night was certifiably special, everything about it, from start to finish.

Only problem is I’m dying to re-live the night. And she’s not.

Chase Whittier, just up from the minors to join the NHL's new Portsmouth Whalers, is riding high and out to celebrate in Boston after their win against the Brawlers.

In a departure from his usual behavior, he takes a woman home for a one night stand.

Except this woman and this night are not what he expects from a one-night-stand. He connects with her on a level he’s never experienced before. This can’t be normal.

But when she disappears before the morning, he's more than disappointed because he didn't get her number--or her last name. And though he doesn’t expect to ever see her again, she stays on his mind.

Until two weeks later when he goes to his grandma’s in Boston for Christmas and finds her there.

She's his grandma's caretaker. And not happy to see him. At all...

a fake relationship billionaire accidental pregnancy hockey rom-com

Sabien

What does a billionaire hockey player and a clueless dog walker have in common?

Besides my dog, we both enjoyed spending one hot night burning up the sheets.

And we both needed something desperately enough to strike a deal.

Possibly the stupidest deal ever imagined according to my lawyer, but once it's done, we're in bed together--literally--for the duration of the season.

The one rule is that we agree to part ways cleanly at the end of the contract. No contact allowed.

No matter what...

Tricky Puck - a fake fiancee hockey rom-com

imageI'd never heard of a real life matchmaker before, but grandma insists on introducing me to one and makes sure it's really real when she tells me I'm her matchmaker's new client...

Normally, I'd do anything for grandma, but this is a big ask.

I'm not ready to settle down. Not even close. I'm only twenty-five and a rising star in the NHL - otherwise known as a chick-magnet.

After all the hard work and focus I've put in to get to this point, I've barely begun to have fun. No way am I going along with the matchmaking plan.

That attitude changes fast when grandma informs me her clock is ticking and her time's almost up.

And her dying wish is to see me settled down with a nice young woman.

Shit.

She goes on about babies, but my mind is spinning with the knowledge that I have no choice. I need to go along with this matchmaking deal for grandma.

Unless I can come up with a way to give her the comfort she wants, the illusion that I'm settled down--without actually settling down...

Twisted Wrister - G.K. Brady

image

He’s not looking for happily-ever-after. She’s not looking for a hockey player. Can love score a win, or will it get iced?

Blake Barrett’s star is streaking into the upper reaches of the galaxy, and it’s his wicked wrist shot that’s fueling the twenty-four-year-old’s meteoric rise. Top center for the NHL’s Cup-winning champs? Check. Millions in the bank? Yep. As self-assured in his stickhandling abilities off the ice as he is on it? Not so much. Women might be throwing themselves at him, but he needs a little more practice to figure out what to do if he catches one.

Though after growing up with a front-row seat to his parents’ disastrous marriage, he’s convinced the closest he can get to happily-ever-after is settling for someone who ticks the most boxes when his career’s done. Why waste time on a dream he can’t even pin to the boards? So when Blake’s roommate—who also happens to be his teammate and best friend—sets his sights on their feisty new neighbor, Blake’s duty-bound by the bro code to help his buddy win her … except when Blake gets to know her, he’s not so sure he wants to play wingman anymore.

Michaela Wagner has earned her hard-fought-for position as a real estate lawyer in a prestigious firm. She may have aced her classes and graduated early, but an army of suits is ready to keep her ambition in check. Undeterred, she casts her eye on a prize account her boss is dangling like a juicy carrot.

Though she doesn’t have much time for dating, she’s a big believer in fairy-tale endings. Prince Charming is waiting for her … though he hasn’t been at the speed-dating events or in the dating apps she’s subjected herself to. Could he be one of the hunky hockey players next door? Absolutely not. Too much testosterone, too much swagger, too many female fans. If she were forced to pick one, though, it would be Blake. He’s an enigma begging to be bared, and he’s got those green eyes that follow her with an intriguing mix of bewilderment and intensity. Too bad he believes in happily-never-after.

As Blake glides closer to Michaela, doubt turns to possibility, and his philosophy begins to unravel like spent stick tape. But a happy ending for these two seems as elusive as a Stanley Cup win. When loyalty faces off against desire, will their love survive the penalty box?
