At SQ's House

It's been a busy week here with all my visits to the gym, a fun Mother's Day lunch with my son and husband, a birthday dinner for a friend and then visiting my mother in CT today (again for the third week in a row!) of course for Mother's Day.

When I left, my poor H was digging up the back yard to put in a patio.

Last night after I got home from my friend's birthday dinner, we watched the NBA playoffs because he recorded it for me, knowing I didn't want to miss it.

He's so thoughtful and indulgent of my comings and goings that I think he measures up extremely well against those romance novel heroes.💜

Meanwhile, there were five of us at last night's birthday dinner and the theme of the night was thankfulness for our friendship ➜➜➜➜

which has lasted decades. We're a close group. When we got back to my friend's house for cake, I discovered I lost my phone and they helped me look everywhere and kept calling it for me. Finally we found it when someone from the restaurant answered it. The whole time, even though it was a small problem, I felt totally supported, like my problem was their problem.

We all agreed out loud that we intend for our friendship to last for our lifetimes. I'm so lucky we mutually appreciate each other that much.

Coincidentally, while having dinner today with my mother and siblings, the same sentiment of being thankful and feeling lucky to have each other was shared.

So today, I can't help feeling especially buoyed and happy to have these relationships with very special people.

I hope you take a moment to appreciate all your special people. It might just give you an extra lift in your spirits.
