EXCLUSIVE Excerpt from NOTORIOUS Man on Campus

💞Hello my beautiful reader friends!

I'm finally writing the story I've so been looking forward to! Brick is already my favorite Book Boyfriend and I'm only just getting started. He's damaged and fun (and of course HOT). Can you imagine?

Well, you don't need to imagine because you can check out the excerpt below from Notorious Man on Campus for a tiny taste, a smidgeon of who he is. 🏈

Last week I wrote THE END for He Has a Baby, my (hot) single daddy romance for the Irresistible Hot Single Daddies anthology to be released in two days! I'll be releasing an expanded version of this new story in the Boston Brawlers Hockey Romance series. It's on pre-order now.

I'm packing and moving things out of the condo we recently sold and getting ready for my younger son to move in with us. I'm really looking forward to having him around for a while! Though I'm afraid he'll be gone again just when we're enjoying his company most.

He plans to move to D.C. for a new job in the next six months. We'll enjoy him while we can. He's pictured here (the one on the left) with friends. Can you tell he's a happy fun-loving guy? 💞

What Am I Reading? This week I'm listening to The Fake - A College Sports Romance by Rebecca Jenshak.

How about you? What do you think of college romance?

If you need recs for new reads, make sure you check out the romance reading features at the bottom!

Something to Think About

What does the word NOTORIOUS mean to you? I've been dwelling on it since I chose the title of my book Notorious Man on Campus and I've been developing said Notorious man, "Brick", Rick Blanick. The brick refers to his body and his implacable facade. He lets nothing get in and he has a devil-may-care attitude as a result which makes him fun. But notorious?
It means he has notoriety, is noteworthy, and the connotation hints of something bad or bold or even scary.
Brick isn't scary--unless you're one of the campus coeds who want to make him your own because he'll more than likely crush your heart. Brick is that kind of Bad Boy.
That, his football prowess, his reputation for absolute rule of BMOC House and the kind of boldness that has him interrupting a wedding to announce that yes, he does know a reason why Kace and Glory shouldn't be married (they ignored him), are what makes him Notorious.

NEW in the Boston Brawlers Series!

Rafe

What's worse than having your nanny quit the minute you arrive in a new city to start the hockey season with a new team?

Absolutely nothing.

Except maybe meeting a hot and nurturing woman who volunteers to jump in and play your emergency nanny--and not being able to touch her because she's off-limits. Lost and grieving, she's vulnerable and the best friend of the team Captain's wife. Not someone to fool with.

Did I mention she's a supermodel? Not good. My ex was a model and left me and my baby to pursue her modeling career.

The last thing I need is another flight risk.

So... I'm stuck between a hot super model nanny and a hard AF dick with nowhere to go.

Zoey

What's worse than falling for a precious baby girl who's not yours? Falling for her daddy too--when you can't have either of them.

I lost my grams and I have nowhere to go with my aching heart, with the need to love and care for someone. When I walk out on my supermodel career, some people think I'm flighty. But when I volunteer to nanny for Rafe's baby in an emergency, my best friend thinks I'm crazy.

Crazy, lost and flighty. I'm a total hot mess in no shape for a relationship.

I can't imagine committing to anything for long.

So... I'm stuck between a hot hockey player with his baby girl and a hard choice about what to do with my life.

He Has a Baby is a full length New Adult hockey romance set in the world of the Boston Brawlers hockey team. You'll see players from other stories drop in for fun, but this book was written to be read as a stand-alone. If you love hot hockey players, forbidden romance and sizzling attraction with all the feels right up to the satisfying happy ending, you'll love this story! (Contains sex and language for mature audiences.)

Brick

“What’s the matter with you?” Roman says as he shoves past me into the kitchen. I stand like a stone on the threshold, feeling like I’ve been struck by the medusa of all monsters.

“What the fuck, Brick?” Dylan asks as he falls in next to me, coming off the back stairs.

Good question. Simple question. Right?

Not. The answer is far from simple. The answer stands across the room at the sink washing pots and pans, banging them around like she’s playing in the rhythm section of a heavy metal band. Either that or she’s fucking pissed at the world.

Well, I know what that’s like. Except it’s her I’m pissed at. What the fuck is she doing here at St. Paul University? At BMOC House?

“Someone pull your plug out?” Allie says as she comes up on my other side. She’s Dylan’s girlfriend and I don’t usually pay much attention to her which makes her try harder to get a rise from me. Occasionally we’ll banter, trading increasingly bizarre insults and witticisms like dueling banjos playing faster and louder until the strings pop. In our case, it’s usually Dylan who pops. Or threatens to pop me if I don’t back off his girl. She’s funny and smart, I’ll give her that. If she were a guy, I’d pal around with her, but she’s not.

Dylan snickers at her unplugged robot crack. It’s an ongoing theme of Allie’s barbs. What she doesn’t understand is that I truly don’t care, aside from the entertainment value, what the fuck she hurls at me. For the record, I'm more implacable than robotic. But it's all in the name of fun.

Roman rushes through the kitchen straight to the dining room to claim his seat as if someone would take it from him.

He’s a fucking offensive lineman on St. Paul University’s vaunted football team. No one is going to take his fucking seat. Not even at BMOC--aka Big Men on Campus—House, where all the best athletes from SPU live, where I rule as President. Dylan elbows me and juts his chin in the direction of the girl at the sink, a question creasing his brow.

Finding my voice, I pull my shit together but I don’t particularly want to share the answer to the WTF question. It’s long and complicated and all about the girl standing at the sink, the girl who hasn’t even bothered to acknowledge us, barely turning her head.

"Nyla." My voice

She turns around. My heart taps hard and fast like I just downed a gallon of Red Bull. It’s her. Nyla Rhoades, the last girl on earth I ever wanted to see again. The girl who haunts my dreams like an evil temptress.

Get a grip, Brick. What happened to your famous mask of indifference? Your cool stoicism, your irreverent disregard for emotional entanglements with all females—which includes hate and disgust?

But I do allow myself to feel lust because, hell, I’m male, and lust isn’t an emotion. And that’s all I feel for Nyla. Even after four fucking years, I feel that explosive heat shooting down my spine straight to my cock like a shot of epinephrine to the heart, making it throb to life.
