Who's into 70's retro?

Wait til you see the vintage 70's photo on the cover of The Cheerleader!
💜💜💜💜💜💜
Hello !
As many of you know, I'm recovering from hip replacement surgery. I had it almost two weeks ago and I'm thrilled to report that I've ditched my crutches! ➜➜➜
Although I haven't resumed my full writing schedule--tough to write while reclining!!--I've been working on the cover to my upcoming Special Project book, The Cheerleader, and it's almost ready.
The snag is that I need to get permission to use a photo from a 1970s UConn yearbook and we can't identify the woman in the photo.
But I have all my alumni friends working on it, so hopefully we'll soon get permission.
Plan B? None. So I'm crossing fingers and toes! Wish me luck!!
SURPRISE SNIPPET!
I've started writing THE CHEERLEADER, so it's really real now and I'm actually ready to share a SNIPPET! Check it out below! ⬇️⬇️⬇️
The story takes place in the 70's at UConn, my alma mater, but NO, it's not about me!
This story is strictly FICTION and I'm calling it a retro college sports romance. It's set in a real time and place that I know well.
When and where will THE CHEERLEADER be available?
You'll find it on KICKSTARTER before anywhere else and you'll have a chance to get an ebook at a discount or a signed copy, a special hardcover edition and swag!

I'm actually writing again after suffering from severely itchy typing fingers who've been away from the keyboard far too long!➜➜➜
As you might expect, only 2 weeks out from hip surgery, I haven't been doing much.
In fact, I consider it a great accomplishment that I put a load of laundry in the wash!
And cooking up some eggs yesterday was a pretty big deal too. That's where I'm at. Puttering around in the kitchen without crutches, which is really such a small thing, has become a big deal.
#donttakesmallthingsforgranted.
Today's small big deal-- I put all my clothes on except one sock!
Tomorrow's small big deal to conquer: Get that darn sock on!!
Also, I need to write for more than 15 minutes at a time...

"I have enjoyed every book in this series. I don't want it to be finished.
This story is well written. The characters, their personalities & development are smooth & believable with a nice HEA.... I look forward to more of Ms. Queen's writings & definitely recommend this series.”

🔥🔥SIZZLING SNIPPET OF THE WEEK!🔥🔥
from Notorious Man on Campus
Brick
“Nyla,” I scrape out her name.
She turns around. My heart taps hard and fast like I just downed a gallon of Red Bull.
It’s her. Nyla Rhoades, the last girl on earth I ever wanted to see again. The girl who haunts my dreams like an evil temptress.
Get a grip, Brick.
What happened to your famous indifference? Your world class cool and disregard for emotional entanglements with all females?
I do allow myself to feel lust because, hell, I’m male, and lust isn’t an emotion. And that’s all I feel for Nyla. But after four fucking years, that explosive heat shouldn’t be shooting down my spine straight to my cock like a shot of epinephrine to the heart, making it throb to life. Yet it does.
“If it isn’t Brick aka Rick Blanick,” she says. Same sassy mouth as always. Same wrap-around-your-cock-and-squeeze voice. Something about the low velvety sound of it, the musical lilt, hits me where it counts every time.
Then a slow smile, like she knows she’s stirring the pot of my desire, drags itself across her face, sure and warm at the same time. Fuck. She hasn’t changed—unless you count getting even better at turning on the heat, her shield of confidence growing strong enough to bounce boulders.
“What are you doing here?”

Snippet from THE CHEERLEADER
Suzie
We cause a racket as we open the door to his apartment. Liz shushes me like I’m making all the noise as we stumble inside and I accidentally kick an empty beer can that had been strewn on the floor. I look around for a light switch as Liz drags us further inside, but before I find one I hear footsteps and sense his presence before he comes out from the dark hall and appears in front of us.
He’s a few feet away, but I stop short and so does Liz. He’s dressed in nothing but his underwear which is more revealing than a speedo, but I don’t dare look down after my first glance. Shit. Why doesn’t he wear pajamas or a shirt or something? Why does he stare at us that way not even one bit of shame about advertising his… everything.
“What’s wrong?” Ignoring me, his stare zeroes in on Liz and I’m surprised at the concern in his voice because his face looks more like an angry wolf, all dark and growly with furrowed brows.
“Nothing’s wrong. We just… missed you.” Liz yanks on my hand and uses me as a shield. “You haven’t properly met our newest cheerleader.”
His eyes shift to me and I feel the cold blow over me, surround me, like he’s literally freezing me out, keeping me far away from whatever universe he exists in—metaphorically speaking. Because I can’t help thinking of him as alien. I have never, ever met anyone like him, man, woman or beast.
“Suzie Bennett. I know who you are.” His eyes flash like a bolt of lightning and I get a glimpse in that fraction of light and I see a much younger version of him. Recognition dawns. Oh my god. He’s that boy.
He turns away from me and it’s like I go blind deaf and dumb. But that’s okay because I can’t form a coherent thought let alone figure out what to say. Not that he’s inviting me to speak—because he’s most certainly not.
He says to Liz, “If you’re okay. I’m going back to bed.”
She nods, but when she makes a move toward him, he adds, “Alone.”
The one word is deep and final and whether he meant it to be, it’s effect is harsh judging by the look on Liz’s face.
This time I tug on her arm and murmur, ‘Let’s go.” I glance at Bryan’s retreating back, astonished at the massiveness of him, the rippling muscles, the tight ass outlined perfectly under his tidy whities. Shit he may as well be naked. His dark tanned skin ends halfway up his thights and the dark hair of his legs show against the white skin. His back gleams white and his arms dark tanned perfectly marking an invisible t-shirt and shorts on his body.
I stare until he disappears down the hall into the darkness and I hear a door shut. Letting out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding, I turn back to Liz.
She’s looking at me pensively and god only knows what she’s thinking.
“He is breathtaking, isn’t he?” Awe fills her voice and I know a rhetorical question when I hear one, honestly, but I answer her.
“Yeah. Let’s go.”
She goes ahead of me, faster and more forceful, taking me along in her wake when I thought I was leading her away a second ago. But that’s how Liz is. A force of nature.
Something I need to remember before I get too caught up in her whirlwind. Or is it too late? Because, hell, she’s already scooped me into her world.
Now I’m not only in a place I never thought I’d be, I’m doing something I definitely never planned to do. My life is unrecognizable from a year ago and I’m not sure who I am anymore.
I’m a cheerleader at the University of Connecticut.
