Hello ,

First, I'd like to welcome the new subscribers from the Booksweeps RomCom promo this week. Glad to have you here!

It's scary hard knuckle-biting wonderful to think I have one more month to complete my work-in-progress, Lucky Puck. I really mean it I have everything under control. No worries.

Of course, I might be at that point in the story where there's a big hump to get over, decisions to make, confusion to unravel, but that's the pain in the neck fun part.

By next week at this time, it'll be all down hill and I'll be in the story groove and moving fast. That's how it always works.💜💜

(Warning: the previous section was written tongue-in-cheek.)💜

No matter about humps and confusion, I hope you enjoy this week's short snippet from Lucky Puck below ⬇️⬇️⬇️

In the meantime, this week is the LAST CHANCE you can take advantage of my Tighten the Belt Sale of three Boston Brawlers romance favorites.

See the details below.⬇️⬇️⬇️

Don't forget to scroll to the bottom to check out my featured romance author and some featured book deals! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

At SQ's House

We had our monthly book club meeting this week and I actually read listened to imagethe book and was prepared to discuss it for a change. The book was The Boundaries We Cross. ➜➜➜

It's a novel written in first person about a boarding school teacher accused of improprieties and then accused of murdering the accusing student.

It's hard for me to not to give away the ending because my biggest take-away was the unanimous opinion of the book club was that the ending was absolutely terrible. We all absolutely hated the ending.

BTW, my book club NEVER agrees on anything.

So what? you ask.

The what is that this consensus by our normally wildly divergent group reinforces my belief in happy endings and my belief that human beings have a genuine affinity, if not need, for happy endings in fiction. Maybe as a counter balance to reality.

Of course this is exactly why I love to read and write romance with their ultimate feel good happy endings guaranteed.💜

What was the terrible ending? you ask.

I shouldn't give it away in case you want to read the otherwise very entertaining mystery with surprising twists and turns.

But if you really want to know, hit reply and ask. I'll tell you. 💜

WHOSE LINE IS THIS? Brody or Bianca

Last Week's Line:

I drag my eyes away because that kind of unbridled admiration for the opposite sex is what got me into this mess.

Bianca

I jump to a stand and almost tumble forward from my seat in row five hundred gazillion. “Shit.”

The guy next to me says, “Amen.”

Not wasting time, I push past him to the steep stairs leading down and out of the stands. Taking a quick glance at the jumbotron, I see the close up of blood on Brody’s face and cringe. They’re taking him to the training room and I’m hoping all he needs is stitches, but it looked like if he didn’t have three people helping him off the ice he would have collapsed into a heap.

God, please don’t let it be a concussion.

She's always had a crush on me, but I was supposed to look out for her like a big brother. Now one wedding could change everything--If I can get my sh*t together before it's too late...

Ryan O’Rourke here, pro hockey star for the Boston Brawlers and playboy extraordinaire. That’s right, I admit it. Hell, I own it, score with it and take it to the bank every day.

MVP of the league, rich as sh*t and sought after—no plagued--by woman constantly, I’m on top of the world. Right?

Not so much. I've been juicing my rep for promotional gain for too long.

Now? Problem is, when you live the rep you forget who you are. And after a very short stint, it gets f*****g lonely because all your friends think you’re an a**hole.

The other problem is, when you fall for someone real, someone who knows who you were before fame got to your head, you have a hell of a time convincing her you’re still the same person you used to be.

I swear I still am—somewhere underneath the cocky b******d.

And then there's that damn promise I made...

Bad boy goalie for the Boston Brawlers, Finnegan Reed needs to rehabilitate his image or be traded.

So he goes along with the public relations plan.

How bad can a fake engagement to a nerdy intern be?

Except the nerdy intern has a spine to go with her gentle soul and a weakness for margaritas and hockey players.

Who knew?

But it's a dicey thing trying to pull off a lie when you're in the spotlight and things could go from bad to worse unless we make the story stick with a convincing performance.

All the way down to the details, like ...

He Has Santa

Little Nicky has a Christmas wish and it's up to Junie and Logan to grant it.

Logan did his best to forget about the girl who ditched him before he left for college on a hockey scholar. He did his best to deny she was the love of his life because that possibility hurt like hell. Now he's playing for the team he'd always dreamed of since he was a kid, the NHL's Boston Brawlers. But there's still a hole in his heart.

Junie never felt good enough to be the high school hockey star's girl, especially when she caught him kissing her best friend. Or she could have been kissing him. But did it matter? He was the hottest guy in town and he'd be the hottest guy in college and then the NHL eventually.

It was inevitable that he'd find someone better than her, so she ran away.

And had his baby. Then married another man.

Six years later and Junie's a widow, coming home finally, starting over. And so is Logan...

Can the UFC fighter win back the girl who broke his high school heart?

Cameron Pearce broke me the day I left high school. For my own good, she’d said.

So I moved on with my life, with women, and with my UFC career.

All it took was a fated crossing in Downtown Miami for a decade's worth of craving to come rushing back. It had me reaching for her again.

And that kiss that caused the media storm…?

That was just the beginning of my fight to win her back.
