Who does he remind you of?

A long suffering grumpy hunk with a big heart...
💜💜💜💜💜💜
Hello my romance reading friends,
Spencer Logan, hero from The Big Puck, is besieged with bad luck and trouble, including losing his half brother, inheriting debt and a baby girl he has no idea how to take care of.
So when his Aunt Hildie gets hurt and he's stuck without a nanny as he's about to start his new job, his big one-year-only shot at coaching in the NHL, we can forgive him if he might be grumpier than usual.
That's what Lainey Hall does, the heroine in the story who is indefensibly optimistic and blindingly sunny at every turn.
So who does Spencer remind me of? I'd say, in the world of fictional characters, the besieged comic hero played by Cary Grant in Arsenic and Old Lace pops to mind.
Reminiscent of Spencer, what fictional character pops into your mind?

At SQ's House
This week, my cat is at it again! If you recall last week she caught a baby rabbit for us and brought her inside.
Now it seems Kitty, at the advanced age of 11 years old, has turned into a super hunter. (I know--she doesn't look dangerous, does she?)➜➜➜➜
This week? She brought a bird inside--and let it go! The poor bird panicked and flew into a wall then plopped to the floor. My husband had to rescue it.
Holding back the cat, he escorted the bird out the door and luckily it was able to fly away. Not sure how far it got because I'm pretty sure it gave itself a concussion banging into the wall like that. Geesh. 💜
In the meantime, I received some interesting pet stories from you! Here's one from Lori Baker, with permission to share:
Our cat was sitting on my husband’s chest and started acting like she was throwing up a hairball. She threw up but it was a partially digested mouse, right on my husband’s chest!
Ewww! LOL! Thank you Lori--and poor Lori's husband!
🐱Thank you to everyone who shared their pet story with me. I so appreciate your notes! It was seriously fun hearing from you.😘

from Playing for Love
Mia
And just like that, before I knew what was happening, I found myself in his arms, his ridiculously strong reassuring arms, pressed up against his hard body, hot and sizzling. He raked his fingers through my hair, my head resting against his chest, his other arm banded around me, keeping me close, and I breathed. We breathed together.
I listened to his heart beat strong, hard, and fast. My own heart raced as I slipped my arms around him and pressed my hips into him, feeling him, needing to test his excitement, not sure if I wanted his cock to be erect for me or not.
As soon as our hips ground together and I felt the hard length of him against me, heard him groan, felt the tremor in his hand in my hair, I looked up at him.
“Mia, don’t—”
I stepped back, out of his arms, but I took his hand in mine and pulled him, leading him.
“Don’t what, Gabe? Don’t want you? Don’t love you?” I watched his face as I spoke, as I brought him to his bedroom. He looked pained and I wasn’t sure why, there were so many possibilities. His mother, Denise, his all-important football. Anger at me and my prevaricating. But I couldn’t sort through or figure any of that out now. This night was about one thing and one thing only. I wanted to make love to him, to give him everything I had, to bare my heart and soul to him.
I wanted to keep moving until we were both in his bed, but I stopped just inside his bedroom door and he put his hands on my hips, holding me intimately but keeping a small space between us.
“What are you doing, Mia?” His voice was soft, but I heard the vibration of tension, still unsure what the source was, whether it meant he wanted me or not...

The Groupie - a hockey rom-com
"FIVE STARS: I loved the background stories for both [Zak and Rylee] on why they are who they are. Families and friends are important. Zak was a great boyfriend from the start and it was fun watching him pursue Rylee. Loved this story and the HEA. Can’t wait for the next one."

Spencer Logan: Man of few words according to Lainey Hall. Strong build, hazel eyes and broody--heck grumpy--disposition, he's determined and stubborn more than talented. But one skill he has going for him is his bull-shit detector and it's 99.99% accurate according to him.
That should help him in his seemingly impossible task to bring the expansion Whalers team to a winning season.
