It's a good thing I love turkey!🍗 Today is my final turkey meal for a while (though I did buy an extra turkey 🍗 because they were on sale. I threw it in my freezer for later--much later!). Catching up with family was my comfort place, my soul returning *home*. I really missed my youngest sister who got sick and couldn't join us (she's better now) and my older son who's working in Vegas, far away from NY. Of course we called them both and passed the phone around, but you all know how satisfying (not) that is. #BetterThanNothing.
Now it's time for the Christmas Season! Here's me above in my Christmas apron with football on the giant TV in the background (in my mind rubbing my hands together with a wild gleeful smile). I don't mean to alienate anyone who doesn't celebrate Christmas, but this is my FAVORITE holiday ever and I celebrate it for the spirit of giving and love and brother/sisterhood because that's what the holiday means to me. Hope we can all appreciate that spirit.

What Am I Reading? This week I'm listening to The Nantucket Inn by Pamela A. Kelley, a women's fiction/family saga style romance. Kind of brings me back to the 80's.
How about you? I'd love to see your romance reading/listening recommendations!

I Want to Know What Love Is
Dylan
We're twenty yards away from the field house, still out in the heat of the practice field where I stop at the water station.
Tyler lets out a lusty low whistle, followed by "Man-oh-man, look at that."
I shake my head, not bothering to look up. We often get an audience along the fence watching practice and especially when the team parades off the field shirtless, all slicked up with sweat and grime.
He elbows me. "She's a stunner. The legs--"
Legs? My head shoots up and I turn in the direction of his stare. Fuck. It's her. Ms. Hot-Shit-Trouble-Pants. AKA Coach Amanda Lake. She's talking to one of the assistant coaches. Laughing. Leaning in. Flirting. Fuck if it isn't enough to get my alpha territorial juices flowing and it takes all my used-up self-control to stop from stomping over there to steal her attention.
"Coach Ryan seems to be getting along with her," Tyler says, pouring a scoop of water over his head. "I wonder who she is?"
"New Assistant Women's Basketball coach," I say in a neutral voice. But that doesn't fool Tyler, who punches my arm. I shove him back, crush my water cup, toss it in the pail and head for the door. The fact that we'll be walking right by the cozy couple, leggy Coach Lake and Coach Ryan, has nothing to do with my abrupt move. Tyler follows me, keeping stride for stride and talking under his breath.
"How do you know her, lover boy? Give the details? You on a first name basis or--"
"Or nothing. I saw her on the SPU website. Athletic Department news." No need to tell him I went looking for her.
Making no pretense of walking by her, I stop directly in front of Amanda Lake and Coach Ryan.
“What brings you out in the heat?” I keep my southern drawl friendly. She gives an appreciative lift of one side of her mouth.
“I had to check out the new quarterback. Of course.” A-plus in ball-busting. Tamping down my dick who reminds me I love feisty chicks, I meet Coach Ryan’s look of menace.
“You’ve met?” He says. “Figures.” He gives me his narrowest-eyed glare, with his lips compressed tight enough to flatten a stripper’s tits.
“Sure have,” I say, but my attention is back on Amanda Lake. I’m thinking all the things I want to say but can’t in mixed company, communicating everything on my mind through my eyes. Not that it would be all that hard to read me because I’m pretty fucking sure the smolder will give her a blistering sunburn if I don’t fucking quit staring like I’m a dick on fire.
“That’s right,” she says, cooler than January in the tundra. “Jonesy and I have a date.” She’s talking to coach, but she’s staring at me. Shit.
Somehow—maybe it’s my game face discipline finally coming to good use in real life—I keep my reaction neutral, swallow down the pop in my lust meter. Unfortunately, the jump in my dick can’t be helped and I grit my teeth as I harden and squirm inside my fucking implacable cup.
Coach raises his brows and shoves me in the shoulder.
“You looking to get benched? You need to be told no fraternizing with—”
“Relax Ryan,” Amanda says on a half laugh filled with more disdain than amusement. She rolls her eyes at him. I enjoy it even as I deflate. Mandy Lake is no pushover. Not that I ever got that impression, but she has a daring sense of irreverent fun.
“Don’t you know a fucking joke when you hear one?” she adds. Needlessly and heedless of the injury to coach Ryan’s male pride. He flinches and so does Tyler. No flinching from me.
I smirk.
“Mandy has a great sense of humor, doesn’t she?” I say. “I bet women’s basketball will be a barrel of laughs this year.” I turn away from the assessing look she levels at me, shove Tyler and head with him to the locker room.
“See you next month,” she calls after me. I don’t turn. She adds, “For our date.”
Fuck. I can hear Coach Ryan saying something, his voice angry and unamused. I refuse to slow my steps, ignoring the shit.

Your Kiss Is on My List
A Fake Girlfriend Friends-to-Lovers College Romance
It may be a bad idea to pretend I'm dating my kid sister's best friend.
Because even though I've known her since she had scraped knees and missing front teeth, she's not that kid anymore.
And then there was that kiss...
Now? She's a knockout who has my heart beating too fast and other body parts standing at attention.
But a favor is a favor--and I owe her.
I just hope she doesn't regret getting herself into bed with the wrong guy--or the right guy.
If I have my way.

Best Things in Life
Years ago I made the choice to make hockey my number one priority.
That's why I let her go.
Now it's my senior year at St. Paul U and I'm touch-and-go to make the NHL draft, but I'm ready to bust my ass like never before to make it happen. I have to because I live and breathe hockey. It's everything.
Except there's one complication...
She's back--and she's with another guy. But not just any guy. A teammate. He lives with us at BMOC House.
And it hurts like hell to see him with her. Every. Single. Day.
So what am I going to do about it?
Do I double-down on hockey or do I throw away my dreams, break all the rules of the team and BMOC House and try to win her back, to steal her away from my teammate?
************************************************************************
I truly hope you have much to be thankful for this year and into the future.
Warmest Regards,
