Are characters the most important thing?

Meet the Characters in Lucky Puck!
Dear ,
Let me congratulate you on every kindness and accomplishment you've made this week, every difficulty you've gone through and every problem you solved (or attempted to solve), large or small.
How do I know this applies to you? Easy, life is like that, full of things to do, people to deal with, kindness and trouble.
Given life being what it is, I have to say that I appreciate you opening and reading my newsletter today.
Before you get better acquainted with the main characters from my work-in-progress, I want to warn you that I'm still getting acquainted with them myself. Of course there will be an appearance by a few characters who are returning from prior books.
But don't worry, you won't miss a beat if you haven't read those prior books. Though your reading experience of Lucky Puck might be enhanced if you have read the previous books in the Portsmouth Whalers and Boston Brawlers hockey romance series. (They're connected series.)
I love connecting things, stories, characters, locations, you name it. Because I can't help my compulsion to build a community as I write each book and still have the characters from prior books in my head.
I absolutely love connecting people. (This is not a big shock since romance is all about connecting people, isn't it?)
To answer the question posted in my subject line, to me, characters are the most important element of a romance novel because it's all about their journey in finding love--after they get over themselves and everything else in their way.
What do you say? Character or Plot?
Meet Brody and Bianca below and find out who is visiting from a previous book.⬇️⬇️⬇️

At SQ's House
I visited my mother in CT again this week and she's doing very well! She had a home visit from a physical therapist and performed all the exercises in good form. She actually complained that she didn't need PT--but since she likes the woman, I think we can convince her to stick it out.
On that note, I'm back to the gym. I joined a great place not far from home. I know the owner and he runs a good show.
So I signed up for a whole year!! (I don't know why that deserves exclamation points. I should probably be using a few question marks there. (teehee))
Since I joined 4 days ago, I've gone twice, setting myself a blistering pace. (kidding). I plan to go twice a week for a strength class populated with a good number of women of a certain age.
We'll see how it goes. I'm optimistic that I can stay on a roll for the whole year (as long as I don't break anything).
Wish me luck!
Who else belongs to a gym? Do you go regularly?
I'd love to hear from you and compare notes!

"I loved this book!! What a great addition to the Boston Brawlers Hockey Romance series with characters you feel like you know and root for and an incredible story that quickly captivated me and had me glued to the book until I read the last word.
I loved the attraction and off-the-charts chemistry between Aiden Liam Cavanaugh, who plays defense for the Boston Brawlers, and Allie "Pink" Pinkerton"

Hockey Hottie - Kat Obie
I’ve always had a thing for the coach’s daughter.
Not that he needs to know that. Coach thinks she and I are friends… and we are, have been for years. But I’d sure like to be friends with benefits.
Except then I’d be dead, because coach wants to believe his daughter is still the angelic little figure skater who just needs a workout buddy.
Why, oh why did I ever agree to help her train?
There’s no way I can keep my feelings for her a secret when we’re getting hot and sweaty together.
But I’ve got the perfect plan.
Just one little date won’t hurt.
Until she shows up to the Halloween party wearing that.
Puck me.
Hockey Hottie is your escape into some friends to lovers romance with schmexy hockey players, some figure skating antics, and too many Labyrinth Halloween costumes.
Grab this first book in the Loving the Puckers series for your hockey romance fix now.
