The best way to market yourself

Folks,

As some of you may know I’ve been sat on the completion of my first book, Good Coach Bad Coach. It could be the cost of self-publication or the fear that once I’ve released it, I’ve got nowhere to hide. Whatever the reason, it’s on ice, with plans to release it later this year - budget and mindset willing.

Do you know the best way to sell a book? I’ll give you a clue: it’s not a big mailing list, or a huge social media following, although I’m sure those help. It’s writing another book.

What better way to tell people about what you do than to keep doing the things you are good at?

I’m going to leave you with a TED talk that I showed my kids this week. Although the talk is about “enough,” I wanted to see if they could spot the business model used. Okay, it was a bit of a stretch, but it was worth the ask, and the conversation that flowed was worth having.

What could you design that puts you on the hook, gives you skin in the game, and a significant upside if and when it works?

I’d love to know. Drop me a line.

Simon

P.S. When you are ready, you can book a slot to talk about coaching.
