Who else is cheering for the Knights?

Who's watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs? Who are you cheering for? I feel like Florida is going to take the cup home this year, but - and don't tell some of my hockey author friends - I'm cheering for the Knights. I saw them in November and they're a very fun team to watch on the ice. I'm also not a huge fan of the Florida NHL teams... (don't come for me!)

These past two weeks have been a blur of gastro virus, grief, and busy as a mothafuckinbee. I've had visitors in from out of town, I've driven down to Dublin to see author friends (and drink a lot of Starbucks), and I'm doing a lot of strategy for the upcoming summer vacation with my kiddo being home, and firming up my release schedule for the rest of the year.

I can't believe we're already in June, Q2 has flown by. And while it's not been everything I'd hoped it to be, I've learned some valuable lessons and realized I'm actually kind of durable.

Last week, I finally got my OBGYN referral. For those of you in my reader group on Facebook, you'll know I got fat shamed by my ignorant GP/PCP in January and had to fight tooth and nail to get referred to a specialist. I got my specialist appointment last week, and I sobbed at her.

Fat girls, you get me, right? You know that anxiety, that stomach-knotting agony at not feeling well and having to talk to someone who's probably going to blow you off as just being obese. Well, this chick was so amazing I told her I wanted to marry her and write a book about her.

Anyways, ultrasound showed that my PCOS is off the rails, so I'm going to be making some changes around here to work on my insulin resistance, and I'll be having an hysteroscopy and biopsies when the referral for that comes through. I'm exhausted but overwhelmingly relieved that someone has finally listened and taken me seriously.

My moral here, is don't give up. Keep being the squeaky wheel, and go get those vaginas checked my dudes. Because they can be awkward little buggers!

Next time I write to you I'll have the cover for Thor and Addison's book, Control - book 1 in my Protocol series, and with any luck, I'll be nearly finished writing the damned thing too!!!!!

Until next time,

Have you joined my reader group yet? If not, then head over to: Margaritas, Men and Mischief with Lasairiona. As the name suggests, it's a place for my readers to chat about all things romance - with a healthy dose of sarcasm, sharp wit, conversations comprised entirely of GIFs, sneak peeks, giveaways and a plethora of memes. It's one of my absolute favorite places on the internet and I'm really enjoying getting to know readers that bit better over there. Don't be shy - we don't bite... much! Come on over!

Justin

I thought I’d left my past in Minnesota when I moved to Iowa, but it was right there waiting for me.

Long blonde hair, curves in all the right places, and a death glare that hits harder than a slap shot to the solar plexus. On the ice, I’m a pro at blocking shots, but Savannah Bowen has slipped behind all my defenses and made a home in my heart.

I had no intention of revisiting the past, but when she’s damn near everywhere I go, I’m a goner.

Savannah

Hell freakin’ no.

It doesn’t matter that Justin Ashe is seven feet tall and sexy as sin, or that I’ve had a crush on him for years. He cheated on my best friend in high school, and that makes him off limits.

I can’t be with him, but damn, it’s impossible to stay away from him. Girl Code says uteruses before duderuses.

He’s supposed to be my enemy, but the more I see of him, the blurrier the lines get.

Bookish. Bold. Beautiful. And entirely out of his league.

On paper, all-American boy next door, Lincoln Scott, has it all. But behind his slap shots, straight-A report card, and easy going charm, Linc hides a secret only his best friend knows.

When he attempts to return a misplaced bra, a wrong number gets him way more than the hook-up he bargained for. No one has ever looked beyond the star hockey player, until the mysterious woman he can’t stop texting sees him for who he really is.

Does Linc have the skills off the ice to keep up with her? Will he follow in his father’s footsteps? Or will he step out from the shadows and chase his dreams?
