Algo bien for a fun Friday.
Edition: March 13th, 2026
Picture 📸 • Optimism💖 • Cool Find 🕵🏽‍♂️ • Homework 📝 • Other Stuff 📢
PICTURE: 📸
I didn’t take this picture—my sister sent it from her neighbor’s estate sale.
But when The Optimist Creed shows up like this, framed and ready for a second life, it feels like a sign. Looks like we’re getting a double dose of optimism in this week’s edition.
OPTIMISM: đź’–
Are you superstitious, ? Lucky, this one is for you:
“I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.”
— Thomas Jefferson
Happy Friday the 13th!
COOL FIND: 🕵🏽‍♂️
The U.S. Postal Service just dropped something beautiful: the new Lowriders Forever Stamps, celebrating a culture rooted in working-class Mexican American and Chicano communities across the Southwest. The sheet features five stunning rides—including a ’58 Impala, ’64 Impala, ’87 Cutlass Supreme, ’46 Fleetline, and a ’63 Impala—each representing the artistry and pride of lowrider culture.
Bonus: the stamps launch today (March 13) right in my hometown of Daygo.

OTHER STUFF: 📢
The Oscars are this weekend, and there’s an interesting piece making the rounds about Latino visibility in Hollywood. The article looks at the long road from pioneers like Ricardo Montalbán to today’s nominees like Wagner Moura, while also spotlighting actors Lisa Vidal and Diana-Maria Riva, who are pushing for more opportunities through their group Latinas Acting Up.
The numbers are still wild: Latinos make up less than 7% of lead or co-lead roles in major productions.
Check out the short video interview on ITV News —or catch the clip on Instagram if that’s more your speed. A good watch heading into awards weekend. 🍿
However you spend the weekend; at the movies, browsing stamps, or just chasing a little luck, I hope you find something that sparks orgullo and optimism. As always, thanks for being part of this little pocho corner of the internet. 🎬✨
Un fuerte abrazo,

P.S. The dual citizenship series is still in the works; you won’t see the first post this week, but I’m deep in the research. If there’s something you’ve always wondered about being binational (Mexico/U.S.), send it my way, and I may tackle it in the first pieces.
