I took a picture of these bills posted around CDMX as MLB welcomes the San Diego Padres for the Mexico City Series starting tomorrow. 🇲🇽⚾️

It’s been fun seeing the city lean in—brown and gold everywhere, with that unmistakable Mexican flair in the new merch too. Fun fact: Mexico City sits over 7,300 feet above sea level, making it one of the highest elevation venues in pro baseball—expect the ball to fly.

OPTIMISM: đź’–

As the crack of the bat and the rhythm of the game settle in, a reminder that some hits go beyond the field:

“The beautiful thing about music is that when it hits you, you feel no pain.”

— Bob Marley

COOL FIND: 🕵🏽‍♂️

📢🎙️🇲🇽 Attention Fronterizos and those curious about cross-border life! The newest episode of Port of Entry features Tijuana native Jorge Meraz, who’s spent over a decade showcasing a side of the border most headlines miss. From growing up in TJ to documenting Baja’s food, culture, and everyday life, he flips the narrative—reminding us that crossing south isn’t something to fear, but an invitation to experience something vibrant and real. A great convo on identity, media perception, and the beauty of the border. It's a must listen!

HOMEWORK: 📝

Full Album, No Skips 🎧 This week, pick a Latino artist—Karol G, Bad Bunny, Rocío Dúrcal, Maná, or whichever is your favorite—and listen to one album front to back. No skips. Pay attention to how the story unfolds. In a playlist world, this is your reminder: albums are art too. 🎶

OTHER STUFF: 📢

imageOne of my all-time favorite artists: Residente.🎤🌎 From his early days with Calle 13 to his solo work, he’s never just made music—he’s used it to explore identity, challenge power, and speak on what it means to be Latino beyond borders. Think art, politics, history… all in one voice.

I’m linking two IG reels that break down his story—from his roots in Puerto Rico to becoming the most awarded Latin artist (29 Latin Grammys), and why his voice still carries weight today.

👉 Start with Part 1, then Part 2. It’s a quick but powerful refresher on why Residente matters.

Whether you’re catching a game, pressing play on a full album, or just soaking in the cultura around you, I hope something here stays with you. See you next time—hasta entonces. ⚾️🎶✨
