PICTURE: 📸
First day of spring energy. 🌱 I took a picture of this little stand at the public library—little DIY seed bombs ready to go, a quiet reminder that we all have the power to plant the seeds for tomorrow.
OPTIMISM: đź’–
“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep spring from coming.”
— Pablo Neruda
Simple, powerful, and perfect for this moment — no matter what’s happening, renewal is inevitable.
COOL FIND: 🕵🏽‍♂️
Iconic doesn’t even begin to cover it—Juan Gabriel’s casa in Playas de Tijuana has officially been transformed into a café. A beautiful way to honor El Divo de Juárez even after death, the space invites fans to grab a cafecito where so much history and heart once lived. The official grand opening is next week, so if you’re heading to TJ, this one’s a must.

HOMEWORK: 📝
This week, step outside and notice what’s blooming—literally or in your life. Take a walk, soak up some sun, and remind yourself: growth is happening, even when you can’t see it yet. 🌱
OTHER STUFF: 📢
This one is heavy—but important. A new episode of Latino USA explores what it means to course-correct the image of a community hero, even after death. For many of us, Cesar Chavez had long stood as a symbol of workers’ rights and Chicano pride, but that image was shattered this week.
In this episode, Dolores Huerta shares deeply personal and painful experiences, following new reporting that challenges the legacy many of us grew up with. It’s a difficult listen—and a sobering moment for the community.
But maybe that’s part of growing too: holding both truth and impact at the same time.
If you’re ready to hear it from her, click through to listen to the full episode.
Wherever you’re at—planting something new, revisiting old stories, or just catching some sun—I hope you make space for both truth and renewal. Growth isn’t always easy, but it’s always happening. 🌱 See you
Un fuerte abrazo,
