Hello ,
It starts in the mind.
That’s what I told myself and what I truly learned this past weekend.
Every battle, every journey, every decision that will take you to the next level begins in the mind.
I had a big lesson in this that I want to share today.
My husband and I had registered our daughters for a competition. It was on the calendar, but somehow I missed it because life had just gotten so busy.
A few days before, I realized the competition was about 100 kilometers away. An hour and a half drive. Across the border. And honestly? I was over it. The previous weekend had already been full, and I was exhausted. I kept telling myself, I’m not going. Yes, we’d paid. Yes, we’d committed. But mentally, I had checked out.
Forty-eight hours to go, I had decided we weren’t going. They’d just have to miss it.
But then came the shift.
The night before, I asked myself - What’s it going to take?
Yes, I’d have to drive. But I’d already spent money and made a commitment. Was I really going to let that go to waste? Something shifted. I told myself we were going to do it.
That morning, I dragged myself out of bed, got the girls ready, and we made the drive. And guess what? We arrived five minutes before their scheduled time. Pat on the back? Yes. But more importantly, it wasn’t about just making it there. It was the lesson I took away.
Every hurdle. Every hard decision. Every moment that pushes you to choose between comfort and commitment—it all starts in the mind.
Sometimes, you won’t get instant results. But whether you choose to give up or keep going, it’s all a mindset decision.
Your thoughts are your power tools.
This week, I want you to take a conscious look at that thing you've been debating. Shift your mindset. Decide if it will defeat you or if you'll move through it.
Success starts in the mind. The attitude of a winner? Also in the mind.
You’ve got this. Because you’ve overcome so much before. And more than that, God has got you.
I'm cheering you on always.
Take care,
Olamidotun.
P.S.: Feel free to forward this to someone who needs a little reminder and encouragement.
Affirmation for the week
“I choose to believe that my mind is my strongest asset.
Each day, I align my thoughts with purpose, faith, and courage.
Even when the road feels long, I remind myself that I’ve overcome before.
I have the strength to keep showing up, even when it’s uncomfortable.
My mindset is shifting and I see challenges as opportunities to grow.
This week, I walk in confidence, knowing I’m equipped for every step ahead.”
