Don’t let distractions steal what matters most

image

Hello ,

This week, I learned something simple but powerful. The biggest distractions aren’t always the big, dramatic ones. They’re usually the little things that you see as just one quick task moments that pull our attention away from what truly matters.

What am I saying here? The things that distract a lot of us are not the big things. They're the seemingly little things. And a lot of us make excuses by saying, I can multitask. But do you know that sometimes, most times I am learning, you get more done by just being focused on one simple task and saying, I have to finish this one simple task, and then I will move on to something else.

I had one of those moments recently. I set out to start my day with purpose, but instead of focusing on the most important task, I let myself get sidetracked. One small choice spiraled into wasted time, unnecessary stress, and this unforgettable reminder that focus matters.

This one skill is very important, even as we move on in life, and we have so many things that we want to achieve. Try to focus on one simple task. Don't get sidetracked and distracted by, “let me just do one simple thing.”

Let me tell you, and you know very well, the greatest distractions that most of us face are just that one simple thing.

My husband has a slogan, he always tells me, “focus darling, focus.” And let me say that to you, focus.

Focus, oh yes, please focus.

It’s easy to excuse distractions by calling it multitasking. But in reality, focus gets us further, faster. When we give our best energy to the task in front of us, we don’t just get more done — we live more intentionally.

As we step into these last few months of the year, I want to leave you with this - don’t let distractions steal your progress.

Focus on the one thing God has placed before you. Be faithful in it. Stay the course.

The Bible says, No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God. That’s a call to keep our eyes forward and stay committed.

In the next four months of the year, you may be saying to yourself, oh, I want to do this, I want to do that. Let me say it: focus. Don’t let distractions get the best of you.

Tell yourself, what is that one thing that I want to do? Please do it by all means — five minutes, two minutes. Don’t get distracted.

I’m cheering you on, and most importantly, make sure you pray about everything, because guess what? We all need the help of God to achieve everything we set to do.

Have a fantastic rest of your week. See you, and don’t forget, don’t get distracted. Focus, , focus.

Take care,

Olamidotun.

P.S.: Feel free to forward this to someone who needs a little reminder and encouragement.
