Audiobook update, and the Experience of a Plotting Pantser
Apr 21, 2025 12:06 am
Hey ,
This month's news brings a few small updates I'm excited for, so lets straight right back into it. To start, I've reached an agreement with my narrator, Mr. Nick Russ, for the Afterworld audiobook. Now, as I've said before, most of the cast from Dawning of Darkness and The Ripper will be returning for this one with a bunch of fresh voices for new characters. You'll also get to hear me star as Leon D. Michaels in this one. The last audiobook I voiced in was The Ripper as the Ripper himself, and it has seemed to have gotten solid feedback (thanks SUNY Oswego Theater Minor).

I'm hopeful I'll be up to the task on this one as well. I'm actually a bit more nervous about this take as for whatever reason I find the over the top crazy voice of Jack easy to get into and so this character needing a more nuanced take may prove itself to be more challenging! But here's to that, if you'd like to hear a sample of what I have completed for him already, check out Afterworld's prologue by clicking:
Moving on. If you've read any of my author interviews from a few years back (god I hope not), I claim to be a pantser in my writing, and that is true for the majority of my writing. However there are times when even a pantser must plot (or should) and I've had to do that for The Dream Herald. To keep this spoiler free I came to a point in chapter 5 where a new character is being introduced. I had a rough idea of what that characters main objective was, but I didn't know his backstory, or how he would effect the plot in the grand scheme. This is what I had to think about instead of just writing and see where it takes me.
See what adventures await you from the list of books above!
I'm actually glad I did because the outcome was more than I could have possibly strung together following a random path to nowhere. Instead I now have a random path to somewhere, the markers or keystones are set, it is just my journey there with my main character and this one and others that I have set. It also allowed me to flush out the purpose and objectives of other characters actions and sacrifices. I actually have very high hopes for this one and it may be my strongest novel yet when its all said and done.
Those are really my biggest updates for now. Check in next month for more info and check out these indie titles and other groups below. There are both audio (first banner above) and ebook/paperback options to browse! Whether you're looking for you next big journey or just a short read, I'm sure there's something you can find. As always, thank you, take care, and stay posted!
