Writing Progress + Fantasy You’ll Want to Check Out

Dec 01, 2025 11:48 pm

Hey , sliding into your inbox with a fresh update.

I hope everyone has been having an amazing holiday season. Mine has been going pretty well (in case you were wondering). I’ve been juggling writing, reading, and a bit of housework along with an amazing game called Where Winds Meet. I haven't gamed in a while, so it's been quite enjoyable!

But progress is still being made on the writing side, and I wanted to share that with you!

Writing & Story Updates

The Dream Herald

I’m now drafting past the point I teased last time, and the chapter is rounding out spectacularly. The book is moving into connected material in this chapter, leaning hard into a certain character and scene in Merlin's Crucible's Epilogue (if you know, you know. If you don't know, this is a perfect time to read it for free!) Let's just say it's gotten real shitty for Mr. Waya.

Afterworld Audiobook

The audiobook work continues! Nick Russ has been in touch again, and we’re inching closer to finalizing everything we need so I can really start going hard on that. Still aiming for early 2026 production with a summer - fall release. Hopefully, the stars in this realm align so that it comes to fruition. I'm betting without trying to juggle a master's class this summer I shouldn't be stressing as much and trying to juggle too much at once.

Anyway, not much on my end, just writing and editing. Before you go though, I've got a few books here for you to check out.

Wedding of the Torn Rose Brian Mendonca

She ran from an arranged marriage to a foreign prince. He ran from a past he’d rather ignore. Together, they’re running out of time.

Kaine, a down-on-his-luck merchant scraping by in the Darian Kingdom, never expected to save a princess from a monster straight out of fantasy. But when he rescues the runaway Princess Lydia, he’s thrust into a world of courtly intrigue far deadlier than the beast in the woods.

Lydia’s father has betrothed her to a foreign prince—a desperate alliance to secure power. Yet Lydia carries secrets of her own, and a dread certainty about what waits beyond the altar.

As the ceremony approaches, Kaine must unravel a conspiracy that could ignite a war between their kingdoms. Some sacrifices are meant to be hidden. Some lies are meant to protect.

Wedding of the Torn Rose is a gripping tale of magic, secrets, and the fragile line between peace and conflict.

Will Kaine save Lydia in time? Or is her wedding only the beginning of the end?
