Greetings from Playa del Carmen,
Three goodies for your week.
⚒️ Men’s Groups
Received a nice text this week:
I joined a “men’s group” when I was in Colombia for 3 months last year and since have been in a handful of others. They now are something I seek out when staying in a new place.
If you’re anything like I was, you’re probably thinking… wft is a men’s group? And who do these men think they are forming their own “groups”?
Luckily it’s quite simple. There are all types of groups and structures… but at the end of the day, it’s just a group of people (in this case men) looking to improve themselves through the support of one another.
The people certainly make an impact, but equally important is the space. Meaning you get real feedback and get to learn from others. No fluff or bs. A common byproduct of this is can be expedited friendships. But not always. People are people. We're not going to be BFF with everyone and that's fine too.
đź“š Book Club
Inspired by Ben Franklin's "Junto" club for mutual improvement, I started a book club in 2018 with a few friends.
Each month we discuss the book and rate it (0-10). Super cool to see ratings over time (49 books so far!)
Our top 3 rated books:
- "Red Notice" by Bill Browder
- "The ONE Thing" by Gary Keller & Jay Papasan
- "When I Stop Talking, You'll Know I'm Dead" by Jerry Weintraub

🤔 Smart Arguments
As coach John Wooden said, “Whatever you do in life, surround yourself with smart people who'll argue with you.”
Con mucho gusto,
