I interviewed Jack Raines last week on my podcast. 

When he was 23, he turned $6K into $400K day trading SPACs during the pandemic. (crazy story)

He now writes one of the fastest growing (and hilarious) finance blogs, called Young Money.

✍️ Memory Palace

A friend reached out to me earlier this year asking for a virtual coffee via Zoom.

His company just raised money, and he was doing an exercise called “Memory Palace” to build out his team (exercise recommended by Sequoia Capital VC company).

The premise is simple — great companies have great people. 

So the biggest challenge for any company is hiring great people. The “Memory Palace” is how you find them in your life. 

Here's how it works.

Think through each phase of your life (high school, college, professional, etc), who were the most impressive, smart, or interesting people you encountered? 

Then hit them up for a coffee to check in. 

While I didn’t take him on the job he was hiring for, I did love the exercise. It was a perfect way for us to catch up and I've kept him top of mind ever since.
