How to navigate (markets, roads, parties)

Morning friends,
Three goodies, in three minutes. Let's go.
📉 Bear Market
Now we're “officially” in a bear market.
Was curious... how long's this last?
So I pulled the "Top 10 US Market Crashes"
(yes, made w/ my own bear hands...🐻)
Takeaways:
- Recent 2020 crash was shortest bear market ever
- Average duration = 16 months
- Average market drop = 47%
Notes:
- S&P 500 was down 21% from its January high as of Monday.
- Bear market just means drop of 20%+ from recent high.
- Bear markets are bad.
- Bear puns are good.
🧭 US Interstate System
I had ZERO idea how the interstate system worked. (“Hey Siri, where is Whole Foods?”)
It’s mostly confusing (Interstate Majors, Interstate Minors, etc.)
But Interstate Majors make a lot of sense.
They use up to 2 digits.
Interstate Major Rules:
- Ends in 0 = traveling east/west
- Ends in 5 = traveling north/south
- Lower numbers = more Southwest
- Higher numbers = more North East

📚 The 2-Hour Cocktail Party
Nick Gray is a MASTER party host and connector.
He recently moved to Austin and now is like a local celebrity.
Sure, he’s built and sold two companies. And yes, he’s a loyal newsletter reader (hi Nick!).
But the real reason is he’s hosted hundreds of events and puts a TON of thought into building relationships.
The “NICK” Party Formula:
- Nametags
- Icebreakers
- Cocktails only (no dinner)
- Kick em’ out (only 2 hours)
He shares all his tips and tricks in his new book The 2-Hour Cocktail Party.
Check it out here (only $1.99 on Kindle right now).
Have a great week.
Much love,
Mitchell
