Stress relief formula + meeting template

Hola Friends,

This year was the first Amazon Prime day where I didn’t buy anything. In fact the opposite. I sold things. Gearing up for my digital nomad adventure (more on that later).

If you’re new here, welcome. If you’re a regular, you know the dealio: 3 nuggets, 3 minutes, let’s goo!

🧠 Stress Relief

Feel overwhelmed with to-dos?

Here’s my SOS remedy to take back control.

  1. Speak: Go outside for a walk while speaking into a voice memo (I use Otter for free). Braindump anything on your mind.
  2. Organize: Get back to desk & organize thoughts into tangible to-dos. (I use Todoist also free)
  3. Start: Finish the top to-do & feel great in no time!

Bonus tip: make widgets for quick use.

Meeting Template

I caught up with a friend recently who manages a bunch of people. It went like this:

Me: Cool how do you track everything?

Her: Huh?

Me: Like where do you put action items, KPIs, etc?!

Her

She’s a high performer, but didn’t have a great system to stay organized. Soo, put together this quick template for her. She LOVES it.

Here’s the template to copy for yourself.

Winds & Currents

Seth Godin has a great essay called Winds and Currents

Basically, in sailing (and life) there are winds and currents.

Winds get all the attention, but really are light.

Currents get less attention, but really are strong.

Currents move the boat far more than winds. Yet we are distracted by winds.

So I’ve been reflecting on potential currents vs winds in my own life.

  • Currents: intrinsic motivation, family, friends, fitness, habits
  • Winds: extrinsic motivation, social media distractions, physical belongings

For energy (and happiness), I’m asking myself: am reacting to winds or riding currents?
