Here's my personal finance template
Jul 10, 2022 12:31 pm
Greetings friends,
Every time I open my laptop, I’m amazed by the amount of information at our fingertips.
But the real SKILL of the internet era isn’t opening new tabs.
It’s closing them.
It's the ability to learn quickly—moving from consumption to IMPLEMENTATION.
It's distilling relevant information and tailoring it to our immediate needs.
Consume → Customize → Implement
Lucky for you… I’ve done the first two steps for you!
🤓 Personal Finance Template
I used to do my taxes myself, but I just hired an accountant.
Our first Zoom meeting, I screen shared and walked through my template. She said, “oh I use a similar template, except I like how you split up ‘Liquid’ vs ‘Invested capital’. I’m going to add that to mine.”
I was surprised (and flattered).
But I’ve just followed the steps.
- Consumed: courses, blog posts, YouTube videos
- Customized: based on my preferences & combining all the best examples
- Implemented: using the simple personal finance tracker
Then after a friend just asked me to send him the template, I stripped it down to the best 3 tabs: Balance Sheet, Net Income, and Crypto.
Here’s the template if you want a copy too.
💻 Tech Tip: Authy
I just switched from Google Authenticator to Authy.
This switch might save you HOURS of hassle.
I kept hearing of people getting locked out of their accounts after upgrading/ losing their phone with Google Authenticator installed on it (with no backups).
But with Authy, there are backups.
Perk of working with bunch of smart peeps… asking questions in the #random slack channel. (turns out many already made the switch)
Note: if you have no idea what I’m talking about (hi mom), these are safer ways to “authenticate” or log in to websites and apps.
